THIS is the Tax Software Product to Use!

This product is excellent. I started using it about 10 years ago. We have some stocks and I can manage to do my taxes. Being able to download broker statements is fantastic! Early on in my experience, I had an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) purchase/sale to enter. I had never had one and it did not go very well. TurboTax asked me for feedback and I said the product could use a lot more info on ESPPs. The next year, all that info was there. It was a vast improvement. I felt I had helped improve the product! Anyway, there are lots of explanations of terms and lots of spots you can click on a "why are you asking me this" question, which then provides me a great explanation. All these forms you receive from various entities can appear overwhelming; but TurboTax explains it -- or at least gets you to put it in the right place. And after you use it one year, all the information gets transferred the next year -- saving a ton of time. Last, TT asks you about home improvements -- so you can get every tax break out there. I love TT!
What's great about it: Very thorough, nearly idiot-proof. Once you use it once, it's a snap to use the next year.
What's not so great: Would like even more links to explain financial terms/jargon.

Always great

I've always used TT for our family returns but this year I was concerned a we sold a home, bought a home, moved states and retired all mid year. I was thinking it was too much for me to do. But when the accountant gave me a 'list' to fill out of tax info, it was all the info I'd need to enter myself so I bought the program and it was easy to complete! Saved me a bundle and a headache.
What's great about it: Step by Step instructions
What's not so great: Navigate back to an exact location
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments, I moved

I could never do my own taxes with out this product. Handles ISO's and ESPP very well.

TurboTax Premier 2015

I have used TurboTax for several years. Always pleased with the ease and simplicity of the program, while being confident of the accuracy of my tax returns.
What's great about it: Very deliberate and professional interview process to ensure accuracy.
What's not so great: I could not transmit e-file because needed to update TurboTax. Had to reinstall TurboTax.

Makes tax preparation less painful

Been using Turbotax for many years and rely on it. The fact that it electronically imports end-of-the-year brokerage tax information is a big time saver and is a vast improvement over gathering & entering all that information manually. Eliminates errors and omissions too.
What's great about it: electronically imports end of the year tax documents

The fun part, we both finished our taxes on time and ended up being a resident of Alabama without ever living there. Thanks guys and gals for all your hard work and generally keeping the stressful part on the downside in doing our taxes. We both pitched Alabama's returns.
What's great about it: Worked all these years with ease. Never understand why anyone needed an accountant to file their taxs.
What's not so great: Couldn't download new update product,or proceed to state. Thank goodness for help from your end.
