Felt like I had a tax preparer sitting here with me at the dining room table. Got everything done in one day. There really is no reason to procrastinate until April, anymore.

Poor treatment of K-1s

There is no button to check that all positions have been sold.
Must find the box in forms and click it to get all carry overs processed. Even if you go to the forms a 2nd time you have to click the box again.
The sale of MLPs is not handled very well and the info on that is poor and insufficient.
Over all not good marks for k-1s.

Next year might give H&R program a go and see how it fairs.

Got 'er done

I have only used TurboTax since it came available, so I have no other software to compare with. At least with the old pen & paper method, you knew what was coming up next. So, TurboTax leaves one working in the dark. Impressive amount of on-screen help available as one proceeds. through the filing process.
What's great about it: Compact; all in one place.
What's not so great: Can't see the full picture while proceeding through the forms.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax Premier does not ask when timeshare was bought and for how much it only lets you put date when was sold and not any amount for sale price. More info on this is needed on the return.
What's great about it: Easy to complete
What's not so great: Timeshare information could be more detailed

Being led through the questions and being able to access help at each topic makes preparing my 17 pages of forms a breeze. I also like that it's easy to e-file.

safe and secure

Every year our situation changes and the IRS changes what we did know, but turbotax keeps up with everything that is important to our family!
What's great about it: I can trust turbotax to take me to what I need and explain it
What's not so great: I wish it didn't keep trying to convince me to file state when we have no state income tax
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
