2015 Turbotax

I keep getting prompted for information I am not provided with by the K-1 Partnership.
Also, At one point during the error check I was shown a blank Capital Gains worksheet and asked to name it and fill in information about it. There was no where to tell what it referenced back to. I finally tried to update TT, but got error messages. I finally uninstalled it, then reinstalled it. I then got the same page, so I went into and checked all my stock sales listing, when I came out of that I ran error check again and the errors (5) had disappeared.
What's great about it: Basic stuff relatively easy
What's not so great: Always have major problems with K-1s

Thee is no way I could have prepared the tax return without turbo-tax. It seemed confusing at times, but it was the tax laws that were confusing.

The tax calculation process was thorough and well organized. What was disappointing to see was a STEEP charge to do my state filing. With as much as you pay for the Premier version, you would think the e-filings would all be free. Now you know why I dropped the rating from 5 stars to 3.
What's great about it: Easy, thorough, organized

Easy as Pie

Tax time is review time. It gives someone like me (an ordinary person, not an accountant, not a business person) an opportunity to review my financial year in real terms. I don't always like doing it, but it always helps. I start early so that I can shape my year; this year I paid for some expenses in advance to lower my tax liability because my income will be lower next year (retired).
What's great about it: The questions and instructions were in English. I could easily follow them.
What's not so great: I had a "crash" last year and lost some data. I had to do some reconstructing.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

My Turbo Tax Review

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and have always had a positive experience. I got advice from an expert through Turbo Tax last year, and he was easy to contact and very helpful.
What's great about it: Comprehensive, easy to use

Easy Peasy tax file 2015

Tax status changed a lot, retired, so pension annuities etc. Turbo Tax made it a 3 hour job(mostly finding the new forms).

Finished my Federal & State in 2 hours!

Have been using TurboTax since 1994. No problems; pleased with the results (even when I had to pay rather that getting a refund). Has helped with tax planning for the next tax-year.
What's great about it: Straightforward and clear instruction
What's not so great: Not always clear what steps are ahead of what you're working on at the moment
