A couple of small details away from perfection

What's great about it: Everything is linked and cross tabbed
What's not so great: When you reach a menu, it should take uou to the next item on the memy

helpful asset for taxes

Have used for years. I like to mostly enter info into the forms. Sometimes hard to find the location of the data source - buried within too many worksheets; note; had to search for my daughter that the identity theft protection pin does not print on one's copy --- it does not say that when it is entered in the directions and we spent a lot of time trying to get that to show when we didn't need to.
transfer from last year was easy. also downloaded mutual fund tax documents for the first time and that worked well.
I hear from others that the online version is not comparable in ease of navigation .as the disc form.
State filing cost has increased. Seriously thought about mailing that form in -- cost to e-file seems excessive.
What's great about it: easily moved between forms and step by step
What's not so great: sometimes had to answer way to many questions when reviewing a topic

Turbo Tax Premier Review

I regularly recommend use of turbo tax. It was scary to me having to file in two states MO & IL because I moved also sold a home and bought another. I'm still worried about how I divided incomes between the states but got through the ordeal. I used Premier version this year, in the past I used home & business not clear to me what the difference is?
What's great about it: Long term user, copies info from last years returns
What's not so great: hard to copy instructions; need a list of 1099s to be mailed
Pros: I bought or sold investments, I moved

Excellent as Usual

There should be an option button on printing the entire return including what gets sent to the IRS and all the worksheets used to prepare the return.
If there is no state income tax (i.e. Florida), why go through the questions on a state return or even ask?
What's great about it: Easy to use and understand
What's not so great: More options of what docs to save as PDF
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and have never had a problem with the IRS. But when I did use a CPA I found errors he made myself!
What's great about it: the excellent reviews of all areas

TurboTax 2015

Turbo Tax Premier did a great job with entering data. Very straight forward and simple.
I found it very difficult to understand and review before filing. Required total trust in your numbers and TT's calculations.
Found differences I did not understand in the final copy that was already electronically sent (too late).
Overall much better than hiring a CPA or doing it by hand
