I have been using Turbo Tax since 1992 and feel that each year the product has improved. This software is intuitive and easy to use.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Has all of the forms that I need with explanations.
What's not so great: None

Got It Done!

Overall, I like TurboTax. I have used it for years and am generally very happy. One complaint, however: sometimes the instructions are not complete. Example: if one has tax exempt interest income from more than one state, the program refers to "Help" instead of just saying how to report more than one state. Why not just say what to do and show the solution on the worksheet?
What's great about it: Relatively easy to use. I have confidence in the accuracy, also.
What's not so great: Every now and then, the instructions are sometimes not complete or clear.

Too Hard

Needs sample pictures to show what something looks like on previous tax forms, 1099s, K-1 etc to make things easier for first time users. Where to look, what to look for cues will greatly improve the product.
Community answers were not helpful. There was no sense of who has the right answer for my question.
One survey questions below is too limited. "Your Business" "I own, I don't own" What about self employed, freelancer, contract workers?
If TurboTax develops a special section and features for us, it would be amazing!!!
What's great about it: Did the Bank and Investment download feature well
What's not so great: No pictures
Pros: I bought or sold investments

MHK Comments 2015

Program was not able to handle Form 8959 Part V correctly for the case of OVER-withholding of Medicare taxes by employer. This resulted my having to prepare this form manually and file the return on paper. This feature worked correctly in 2014 and I hope it gets corrected for 2016.
This error has been discussed extensively with your agents few of who understood the issue.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Unable to file electronically due to bug in Turbotax
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Not very user friendly

When trying to input data from my financial institution using the online version of TurboTax Premier it would lock-up. Subsequently had to purchase the CD version.
The Oklahoma Tax module is terrible! With each sale of a security I need to go in individually and indicate if transaction is qualified in Oklahoma. Each transaction takes about 5-10 seconds because the program recalculates the taxes each time. With over a thousand transactions it is mind-blowing to just sit and watch the machine spin. There needs to some way to go in and make a bulk change. Even when I go to the form and manually input the indication it takes 5-10 seconds each. Incredible!
What's great about it: Calculations were correct.
What's not so great: Very difficult to input massive amounts of data.

Straightforward Preparation
on April 5, 2016

Straightforward tax preparation, basically just plug & chug if your records are organized in advance. Should warm e-filers upfront about ID requirements so spouses (etc.) can be available to provide drivers license/ID card.
What's great about it: Step-by-Step Instructions & Overview plus ability to Flag items for later attention
What's not so great: Should warm e-filers upfront about ID requirements
