An excellent, easy way to prepare and file a tax return. Very clear steps.
What's great about it: easy to ask questions - found answers quickly
What's not so great: took me through an entire section. I would have liked a shortcut within a section.

this is a good program I have used it since 1997 in the Deluxe Version, but new upgrades in the program removed features from Deluxe and added them into the Premier forcing a change either to Premier at higher cost or switching to another program. I may look at making that change based on the competition next year.
What's great about it: accurate easy to transfer from year to year
What's not so great: new updates have forced a change to a higher priced product
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax takes the stress out of doing your taxes. Just collect your information as it comes in the mail in January and yo are good to go. There is one minor quiche in the software. On the page where you enter your id information. After you enter your id number and select the date format it leaves you in the id number entry box so if you are not careful you end up adding the date to your id number. This happens both in the expiration date and the issue date.
What's great about it: Easy Easy Easy
What's not so great: On the page where you enter your Id: Entering the date is not straight forward.

When I tried to login I had to reset my password. Ended up in an infinite loop. Had to call and have it reset. Getting a telephone number to call was a nightmare in itself. I live about 10 minutes from Corporate Headquarters and was about ready to drive there.
What's great about it: Have done this many times. Everything was familiar and worked well.
What's not so great: Had trouble e-filing my state tax. When I went to pay with a credit card, my password wasn't recognized.

Long time user of Turbo Tax, and the fact that the look and structure stays basically the same each year makes it much easier as what you learn from year to year can be carried over.
What's great about it: Many
What's not so great: E-Filing becomes more laborious each each...no fault of Turbo Tax
