Excellent tax preparation software

What's great about it: Easy to use

Reliable software

K-1 are always confusing and more step by step help is needed with completing this section, especially the worksheet stop that is required for foreign income.
What's great about it: Easy step by step
What's not so great: Need more help with K-1 and printing separation between Federal and State

Good tax Man

Over good program I am used to turbo tax and it is easy for me.
What's great about it: I like the way I can jump around the program and inter the things when ready
What's not so great: will not support xp next year

Excellent program and gets better every year, I really liked the info you can pull in and goes to where you need it in the calculations and tax return.
What's great about it: Very easy to follow and info easy to get when you have questions
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Good Legacy, Bad Year

I've been a TurboTax user for many years. I appreciate the way that it seamlessly imports previous tax years, allowing me to not miss any carryovers and also allowing me to compare the past year to the current year [to see if I might be missing something that I had done the previous year].
However, this year there was a bug in the product for which I had to contact Tech Support numerous times. We tried basic things and we tried one or two slightly-less basic things, but tech support seemed unwilling to actually try higher level troubleshooting. So after many hours on the phone, their solution was 'restart your taxes.' My solution was 'I'll use my tax file and try on a different operating system.'
The bug was with form updates not sticking, so I was trying to engage them to see what version of different files/databases I had on my computer versus what version I should have and how to reset the form databases. The response was, 'just restart your taxes.' So I was not impressed with that help at all. Thankfully my idea to move my tax file to a different operating system worked, but that should have been their idea [or they should have actually been willing to troubleshoot at a deeper level].
What's great about it: Good legacy of a consistent product
What's not so great: Program bug that tech support didn't want to deal with

So Easy!

I've used Turbo Tax Premium for 5 or 6 years now. It's pulls up info from the previous year and guides me through all the details of the forms. This past year I had to deal with inheritances from the father and Turbo Tax took care of it all. Filing is easy. Everything is saved in PDF when you're done.
What's great about it: Very thorough, detailed and helpful explanations, included all forms
What's not so great: Didn't run into any this time
