Finding the place to enter foreign tax on securities was very tedious and the help directions were almost as tedious. After a few attempts I found that I had to go back to a mock-up of the 1099 Div form. Since many users of the Premier version may have this type of issue, a pop-up box to explain where these taxes are on he 1099 and where they should go into the Turbo-Tax system.
What's great about it: generally simple
What's not so great: finding where to enter foreign tax on stocks was tedious

Have used TT for nearly 10 years and still the gold standard. Easy to use, simplified instructions and great help and support options.
Some general tips on how to improve one's tax situation would be helpful and give users someplace to start the conversation with a tax advisor or financial planner.
Great product - will use again next year....

Some Glitches

Misc Income - I have problem where to list Election Officer pay. do not get a W-2 for this.
Also Explanation for Form 5329 did not appear on the for when printed.

OK ... But make it run on linux

Each year it's getting harder and harder to run this program on linux. This is a visually simple program. Please make some effort to use toolkits that run either on wine or crossover, or VirtualBox.
This year I had to turn off 3D acceleration to get popups to render properly. NO OTHER WINDOWS PROGRAM BEHAVES LIKE THIS. CAD tools run right. Come on.
I can't trust windows for financial information.

What's not so great: No 4255, Passive loss forms difficult to use. Should be able to see data source and provide overrides

Never Easy

Tried to find answers to somewhat complex questions, but nothing was available. I find the "Add Supporting Details" feature very annoying. If you have anything in there, and don't remember that you do, entering anything in the main entry cell wipes out the description on the first line.
What's great about it: Comprehensive, trustworthy
What's not so great: Not very user friendly; answers to anything but straightforward questions not useful; annoying "Add Supporting Details"

Overall makes doing taxes just a step by step process. There are still a few kinks like lacking a direct link to ItsDeductible.
What's great about it: walks you through the questions one by one. Has extra help when needed
