Wish it would ask if you want to enter the state sales tax deduction for Washington state folks. All most missed it. i will need to enter an amended return for last year because i missed it with turbo tax. no big deal work wise just a few clicks. partly my fault for not being guided thru and choosing to do it myself.
What's great about it: Complete walk throught of the basic pieces to complete a return. Good help screens. Well organized and presented.
What's not so great: The list of charities does not stay sorted when you go from the sorted list to enter details and back again.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

you need to do Hawaii state better

why dont you include N-158?
it ridiculous to have to go get the form and fill it out separately
if you do not want to do the form, you could at least provide instructions
Hawaii N-158 is the typical confusing form
BTW, This is the same comment I made last year
What's not so great: why dont you include N-158?

Tax Preparation Taxing

Great program except for the transfer of ItsDeductible into the 2015 return from the 2014. We spent almost three hours trying. Problem was the userid and password request--seemed like a do loop and never did get into the ItsDeductible.
What's great about it: Thorough; easy to follow instructions; easy to navigate
What's not so great: Impossible to transfer 2014 donations from ItsDeductible into 2015 return--very disconcerting and extremely time-consumi

Password and Print Problems,Technical Info Good

This was my daughter's return and was fairly simple. It had itemized deductions, interest deduction on a student loan , and income from conversion of a traditional IRA to a Roth IRA. All the tax issues on this return rolled through smoothly. I was breezing through until I got to the end when I thought I was almost finished. Those loose ends took longer than doing the return.
I wanted to file electronically to get her refund faster. But this year for the first time, I had to get information from her driver's license. So I had to contact her for that. Then I thought it would be smooth sailing from there. It was not.
I had to pay to file GA electronically, but that had never been a problem before. This time, however, the Intuit system would not accept the password I had been using for about 10 years. The system even put a password in with dots containing the same number of dots as the letters in the password I had been using. I went around and around getting more and more confused until I cleared everything out, saved the file, closed it, opened it, and started over, asking for a new password following all the "suggestions" for passwords. I think Intuit wanted new passwords containing all the features of the suggestions. It would have been a lot easier if there had been instructions advising people with existing accounts that they needed to change their passwords according to specified requirements. Other organizations have done just that, and it only took me a few minutes to comply with their new requirements. It took me at least 10 times longer to go through this exercise on Turbo Tax this year.
Also there are many pages with pertinent information that the user cannot print, such as what returns were filed electronically and when. So then I have to write that info out in longhand. It's like when I was doing reports in high school. It would really be helpful if some of these pages could be printed. But I ask for this every year, and nothing changes. When I first started using Turbo Tax, some of these pages could be printed out. This is another example of how so many things have been occurring in the world lately. Instead of improving, they aren't as good as they used to be, for whatever reason.
What's great about it: Technical tax information worked fine on this relatively simple return.
What's not so great: 1) There are pgs I can't print and have to write out. 2) I wasted 2 hrs over my password.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Less problems this year than with the Premier version for 2014, but I still preferred the Deluxe version when it handled capital gains and stock transactions.
What's not so great: Some of the transfers from the federal return to the Arizona return were not explained adequately.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
