What's not so great: Federal - doesn't always return to previously left interview step.

Steps are easy to follow but a tax knowledge makes it easier.

Over the years, TurboTax has been part of my life - I am too stubborn to go to a tax preparer or accountant to do my taxes, and TurboTax has gotten me through the tax preparation process for many years now.....I haven't bothered to check out the competition, as I am pleased with what TurboTax provides....
TurboTax provides a methodical, logical, and user-friendly approach to dreaded tax preparation - and permits us to access state forms also!....
TurboTax helps me keep organized records each year.

What's great about it: keeps track of previous years of tax filing
What's not so great: had to upgrade to premier to cover investment income[

I've used this for several years now and felt every area was covered in great detail with nothing left. Checking for errors, updates and audit risk/protection allows me to not worry about dooing my taxes correctly.
What's great about it: Complete and informative
What's not so great: Some FAQ's not specific enough
Pros: I bought or sold investments

The Alabama State Schedule E line 20 does not calculate oil/gas depletion correctly. For the Federal the rate is 15% but for Alabama the rate is 12%. The state form is using the Federal rate of 15%.

I think it's VERY expensive for the premiere version. Also, I had a schedule K form in 2014 and not in 2015. The program kept giving me errors, even tho it I did not enter the information for 2015? It took me about an hour to figure out how to get around this non-error and delete the form.
