Reliable every year

Long ago, we ran Turbo Tax and compared the results to our professionally prepared returns. They were within 99% of each other. From then on, we have been using Turbo Tax to prepare our federal and state returns. Each year, Turbo Tax walks me through each step of the process and makes even complex years--like when we move out of state--manageable.
What's great about it: Walks me through each step of the process
What's not so great: Add-on fees for state returns
Pros: I moved

Multi-state was cumbersome

Here are my difficulties from 2015: I moved from NY to CT and had some federally exempt interest dividends (1099-DIV box 10) with sources in these states and others. Using the TurboTax interview, I got some of this wrong, but then upon reviewing the forms, it became apparent how to fill things out. They kept subtracting the resident portion from the federal portion (without clearly explaining) and asking me how much of this non-resident difference was attributable to sources in the first state, when the federal subtractions already omitted it, leading to a bunch of non-obvious zero entries I had to put in. Also, I had to tell each state how much I was being taxed in the other state, when the two state modules should have shared this info behind the scenes. Finally, when I deleted an erroneous HSA contribution from the federal, I had to manually delete it in form view on NY - this should have been done automatically.
What's great about it: Federal was super quick and easy
What's not so great: Had to answer the same questions over for multiple states
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments, I moved

I love TurboTax. This is my third year using it and I don't have any plans of ever switching. It is easy to understand, simple step-by-step, and I have no doubt I'm getting the most I can get for my refund.
What's great about it: Easy
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Long time user

I have been a user of turbo tax for many years. As a result I find the format easy to work through and I can get my taxes done quickly. However, the changes that have been made to increase the cost of the software when investment information must be entered was annoying but understandable. You should have just raised the cost on the standard that everyone was using. Now that you are in addition charging what I would deem as excessively high charges for a simple second state and for e filing and money transfer, I will consider using other software nest year.
What's great about it: Is easy to use when you have past years to work from.
What's not so great: Costs

Dread is over

Easy to work through. Product helps with using understandable terms as tax forms can be a tad bit overwhelming to interpret. I especially like the review process for the entries. If you've made an obvious error (such as decimal point), it will show up. There is verbiage to explain terms if you need them. Overall an easy process. I've been using Turbo tax for years and have not been tempted to switch to another product.
What's great about it: Easy workthrough for two states to have to file in; Picks up charities from previous year making easy entry
What's not so great: A little lost on state split on state returns
Pros: I moved

Turbotax 2015 Review
on April 1, 2016

After entering income, not reported on a W-2, in wrong area I found no way to fix the problem other than starting over.
What's great about it: Works well in most cases.
What's not so great: Problem fixing wrong entries. You need to understand more about your taxes than adds would leave you to think.
