been with you for years. If intuit can do the taxes with MAC OS, then why is their not a a mirror image of QUICKEN?

Easy Upgrade

I'm so used to TurboTax that I automatically bought the same version we' d always used. Unfortunately, it didn't include everything we needed this year, so we needed to upgrade. I called them, and found out it was really easy to do online -- no need to exchange the software at the store! And I was relieved to find that the information could automatically be imported for completion of the necessary forms. Thank you, TurboTax.
What's great about it: Able to handle some "new wrinkles" in our income
What's not so great: None

Turbo Tax is good

Turbo Tax is very helpful every year.
Improvement suggestions:
- ST/LT loss carryover: I have always had to locate and enter this manually; it does not carry forward from last years load, not sure why.
- Rental of room: handling of fraction of use of home is not clear at all; I entered a use fraction (time space) for room; but then instructions as to whether I am to split real estate tax etc is not clear - and there's no panel showing the split between the Sch D and the Sch E; just nebulous instruction saying don't enter again there when entering here. I want to enter these expenses/deductions in one place and have you put it on the forms in the right places, or adjust it if required.
What's not so great: carryover, rental fraction

Post Tax HSA contributions

Despite what the help section says, I could find no place to enter a rather large post-tax contribution made to my HSA fund. Supposedly, there is a place in TT to enter additional contributions not shown on the 1099-SA, but I couldn't find it.

Turbo Tax makes filing as easy as possible and provides good guidance to make the job less frustrating.
What's great about it: Lots of Hints and Advice
What's not so great: AMT section is difficult to understand

For many many years I used TurboTax on a windows system and was very satisfied wth the operational performance.
This year I have a new Apple MAC and the operational performance is very poor compared to the windows system. Particularly noteworthy is the in-ability to click on an entry in the forms and determine where the entry came from. This is a nightmare when the entry was determined by TurboTax. If at all possible, TurboTax software engineers should remedy this problem.
