Fast & Efficient

TurboTax has transformed the odious task of preparing taxes. Once I have my charitable deductions, bank statements, and credit card statements together the program downloads all my investment and banking deductions faster than I can believe ... but it's all there. Wonderful.
What's great about it: Easy to use and file.

Using TT for years . Keeps getting simpler to use and takes less time to complete once you have your stuff organized. Its Deductible is a great tool to price your deductions to charity.

Very Frustrating

I had to quit out of my return several times to make the program quit the "calculating" spinning wheel even when there was no calculation, the only way I could even make it quit was to hit the back button, but then still couldn't continue without encountering the spinning wheel calculating again. I had to hit the back button to stop it and then quit the program and then start in again. I had never had a problem with Turbo Tax before, I have used it for as long as it has existed I believe. I will not use it again next year unless I can find out you have found and fixed the problem.
What's great about it: Transfer of prior years information, timely and helpful suggestions
What's not so great: Continual updates tries while I am still working on my return, terrible never ending spinning wheel saying calculating,

Saved me many labor intensive hours and with a couple of computer punches, filed my federal and state taxes.
What's great about it: Touched every base and got me confidently file with nice refund
What's not so great: Nothing

1. Transfers last year's data
2. Handles complex REITT forms easily and carrys gains/losses over from year to year.
3. Since I have been using TT for over 10 years, I use the forms and they work great.

Does an Very Good Job of Federal Tax Preparations

On Mac won't let me "SAVE AS" only "SAVE". I like to create version of Turbotax after my filing is done called "WHAT IF" to see what would happen to my taxes or my income were to change due to a pay rase or large investment gain or loss. I do this by saving my existing copy of Turbotax to a new name. I cannot do this if I cannot "SAVE AS".
What's great about it: Has gotten easier to use over the years

Printing forms was confusing. When I pushed the print button I got a print preview page. I am still not sure if I can print a copy for my records.

Difficult to understand where to enter depreciation for rental property. We have a friend who is a CPA. He always looks over our turbo tax filing. He noticed I had missed this.
