Taxes too high!

I have used Turbo Tax forever! I used to do schedules A, B, C, D, E, Depreciation with Turbo Tax Basic including 2013. For tax year 2014, I had to get Turbo Tax Premier at a much higher cost, with the same results as Turbo Tax Basic prior to 2014. Was not very happy. In 2015 I sold a property, thus I had a higher income. I noticed that the estimated tax calculation only gave you a few option: 90%, 100%, and 110% of current year income. It took me quite a bit of time to find the option to compute the estimated taxes by reducing the proceeds of the sale. You seemed to have removed it from the calculation sheet.
What's great about it: Liked the Step-by-Step and being able to review specific forms.
What's not so great: Some check boxes get cleared when going back, so I have to keep entering them again and again.

Decent product, but pricey

I've used TurboTax products for quite some time. Back when I could itemize deductions, it was a great thing to be walked through all the various options, but now it's becoming somewhat tedious to go through all of that only to be bounced to the standard deduction. I like that it takes most of the pain out of handling investment income, such as capital gains and other more complicated earning types than simple dividends and interest. What I don't particularly like is that to get the more involved investment income features, even for relatively minor income amount, that you have to purchase the more expensive version of the product - something which has become more expensive over the years. Its also nice to have the state return completed without having to fight with the state website or re-enter all the information. But I also kind of resent having to pay an additional fee to eFile the state return even though there really isn't any additional cost charged by the state to do so. That and the packaging on the software implies "free" state product as being included.
What's great about it: Walks you through everything. Imports 1099 forms from brokerage accounts like vanguard.
What's not so great: Expensive - moreso than previous years. Extra charge for eFile of state return even with "free" state product.

Thorough and Complete

The step-by-step instructions provided by TurboTax is very easy to follow and helpful. When certain types of deductions are limited by AGI, additional explanation for the reason of the limitation will help. Carrying over the information from the prior year for the TurboTax user helps and save time to proceed with the program.
What's great about it: Ease of following instructions
What's not so great: additional explanations and comments will help the user

Still kinks to be worked out

I found it frustrating to enter rental income in the questioning format that also entered those figures again as a business, which added false income and taxes to pay. I had this happen last year in the BASIC program, but when I upgraded to PREMIER, it sorted everything out correctly. This year I purchased the PREMIER program to begin with, and had the same problem I experienced with the BASIC last year. I will be checking out other tax programs before purchasing Turbo Tax again.
What's great about it: Carries info from one year to the next ~ saves time and jogs memory.
What's not so great: Mistakes difficult to override while still working on return.

I have wasted about an hour trying to do an e-file. After getting my ID information, it informed me I had to get another which turned out to be identical to the first. I am not required to file a return for Oklahoma this year but haven't found how to get work to this form and it wants me to finish it before I can file. It's very frustrating. I have made numerous attempts to e-file of which none have worked - yet. I would like very much to get this finished!
What's great about it: I'm beginning to get used to Turbo Tax after all these years.
What's not so great: I found the information from the previous year to be very helpful and it wasn't provided this year.
