Turbotax is fast accurate and as easy as taxes get

I have been using turbotax since came out about 25 years ago. love that it saves previous year, allows import of financial statements. It is fast and accurate.
What's great about it: remembers last years especially capital gain or loss carryover
What's not so great: cost

First time user, and slightly more confident after
on March 31, 2016

The straight forward nature of the program helps users to understand the process more so, but there is still terminology that more average people won't understand, and question if they're even doing it right.
What's great about it: a nicely straightforward process
What's not so great: terminology is still puzzling
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Gets Better every year!
on March 31, 2016
Posted by: DidMyTaxes2day
I have been using TurboTax for 4 or 5 years now and it just keeps getting better every year. It always imports all the personal and tax information from prior years and that saves a lot of data entry. I also like the ease of e-file and the small extra charge for state e-file is really a bargain because it is so much easier. I am also planning to get the FREE "MINT" program to make tracking potential deductions easier next year.. I was on standard deduction this year.
What's great about it: Import of W2 and Brokerage statements
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

As always saves me from pulling out my hair!

Gosh, these partnerships that trade like stocks are ghastly! Thank you for making it a bit easier :) now if only you could pay my taxes for me :) I'm still too lazy to buy multiple states, so I have to do several by hand first :(.
What's great about it: Can figure out complicated K-1 items
What's not so great: Sometimes you have to dig a little deeper on complicated forms for "unusual" circumstances
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Helped me prepare returns efficiently
on March 31, 2016

I have used turbo tax for many years, and I almost bailed last year because of the mixup with the Deluxe package. I was ready for it this year, but still did not appreciate having to upgrade in the middle of preparing my return. Maybe unavoidable, but deluxe always worked for me before. Guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and go with premiere from the start.
What's great about it: easy to navigate, community responses to questions
What's not so great: having to upgrade to premier in the middle
Pros: I moved

Amazing software

My complex 1040 took many hours to input, but step-by-step method would have avoided a few needed corrections. Saved a fortune in CPA fees by using Turbo.. Turbotax properly added a donation from my IRA back to taxable income on Wis Form 1, but failed to take the 5% tax credit. And, code numbers for Wis/Fed modifications were not the latest 2015 ones per Form 1 instructions. Hire a Wis CPA to alert Turbo to the changes each year. It ain't simple.
What's great about it: Copes with horrendous IRC laws, with faultless math
What's not so great: Struggles to cope with Wisconsin income tax changes
Pros: I bought or sold investments
