Its done for another year

Was impressed with filing but not as easy as in past years. Replaced computer and lost the last year import when I switched from PC to Mac. There were several spots in the state of Iowa section that were just awful and little to no help from either help center or community. Did my best at it but made sure to get the audit protection as a precaution. Although my 2013 return got passed with fling colors until Iowa sent me a notice owing money do to tax refunds not entered on that portion. I made sure they are there this time don't like paying interest on a programming error.
What's great about it: Federal return with investments
What's not so great: State filing for Iowa little help

Joint Return for 2015, with Federal & Missouri

All went smoothly, except the income split (between spouses) for Missouri. The presentation screen indicated the split between, for "Capital Gains", rather than AGI, when determining the percentages for each spouse.
What's great about it: Consistency in path thru the return's data-input
What's not so great: Import of Schedule K-1 remains cumbersome to use
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Once you've entered the majority of your financial details, there should be a direct link to printing out a "draft" return, or a portion of it, to allow an intermediate review. I know it can be done, working through the forms etc., but a quick link would be appreciated.

My wife and I have used TurboTax for many years and it is great overall. That said, In addition to being a teacher she is a free lance cellist. When she plays cello at the school at which she teaches, they automatically take out taxes for the additional income so it makes her free lance cello income overall look "negative." It would be nice if we could add a comment in TurboTax to that effect so that her cello playing won't be perceived as a hobby.

Even tho it was an eternity to wait for help, once I reached the proper person(s) to answer my questions, they were FABULOUS to work with, and very patient with my questions and frustrations!
What's great about it: Very versed in the questions I had!
What's not so great: A bit difficult to get in touch with - long wait times.

Fed is good, State needs help

Fed tax return is very good with all the questions and help notes. i feel that It gave me the best return possible. However, the state has no explanation notes. Also the forms would not print from the print button. I wish it would also have little notes on sections to say that items in different sections have changed from last year. I am accustomed to a certain flow of the taxes and when things change...
What's great about it: Fed has all the little help and explanatiion notes. Things transfer to state well.
What's not so great: State has no little help notes. Can't get the forms to print.
