Good for refunds, not if owe in NC

Federal taxes were easy and quick. NC state taxes were computed well. I went through e-filing the state taxes, and a link for paying the tax was supplied. It sent me to a page in the NC tax site that was for e-filing. Turbotax said to make sure the payment conformation was saved, but the NC site I was sent to was for e-filing. My taxes were in TurboTax, so I could not e-file on the NC site, and I did not see a link to pay taxes without filing. Thanks for nothing, TurboTax. You should make things easy. Never mind, I will just mail the NC return.
What's great about it: Does the federal tax well, e-filing is no problem.
What's not so great: I was not able to e-file for NC taxes owed.

Other than the con I listed under your con section I am happy with your product. This year marks the 6th year I have used TurboTax and I would recommend it to anyone.
What's great about it: Simplicity with good reduanticy
What's not so great: Asking for driver license information with all the IRS information a NO, NO

I had to manually and a few investment figures because it does not handle return of principal type bond transactions.

Easy step by step process

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years and it is easier than ever to get taxes done! No better way to get taxes done on your own schedule
What's great about it: I love that I can understand the tax process
What's not so great: Not always easy to get hard questions answered

Another hassle-free year with Turbo Tax

Turbo Tax earned my trust many years ago. The experience of filing is consistent from year to year and changes over time have been incorporated in a logical manner.
This year I encountered an issue with filing a K-1, but by using the 'flag' feature I was able to go back later and review the section and re-enter the data correctly.
A 'nice to have' feature would be the ability to set a mode to exclude the update every time I use Turbo Tax. This mode would simply provide a reminder prior to review and/or filing.
What's great about it: Access to W-2 via the web, and all the forms I need in one place.
What's not so great: Data entry of K1

How to improve a good product?

Been using TT for well over a decade. The program works pretty well, and it is so much easier that it does all the calculations for you. Import of W2 and 1099's worked well (and is MUCH easier if you have 1099-B's with lots of stock sales).
As with previous years, TT is a bit sluggish. Also, when you zip back and forth in the EasyStep interview (I forgot a few items), you then get asked the same questions (which you answered No to) over and over again, without an option to skip.
Also, tracking down some errors was hard. The error messages were cryptic. I ultimately had to Go To Forms --- and TT should have taken me there to begin with! On the forms, the ones with errors were marked with red !, and on the form itself the boxes that needed data entry were highlighted in yellow!
What's great about it: It works. Way easier than doing taxes by hand
What's not so great: Annoying repetition. Hard to find errors

Printout Improvement Request

Please modify your printout software to include an index /table of contents and number the printed out pages
