2015 taxes

I downloaded the 2015 tax program I have in the past used the online version. I would not recommend the download version! It cost me more plus I could not transfer my prior years tax info. I was not happy choosing the download version, but had already paid for it!! I wish I had stayed with the online version!!

From 1-10 with ten being the best I would rate it an 8. I Have been using Turbo Tax for at least 10 years.
What's great about it: The convienence of doing it at home.
What's not so great: I did not like the rental property portion .

The Minnesota forms and instructions were not clear. There were no answers to the problems in "Help"

I have used Turbo Tax for many years. Started when I was in school and now use it with Rental Properties, and partnerships included. When you think about it, you still need to collect all the tax information to provide it to a company to do your taxes. Here, rather than transferring everything over to a middle man that will use software anyway, you just enter it yourself. As long as you are organized and keep your records of everything, it is relatively easy to go through and answer all the questions the software will ask. I am a happy customer that have been using the software for many years and hope it always stays as user friendly so that I can keep using it for many more years to come.
What's great about it: Easy to use, Let's you me in control

I would suggest that Turbo Tax allows stock trades to be uploading from an excel or cvs file.
What's great about it: If you use Turbo Tax it will remember your information. Step by step guidelines are easy to follow
What's not so great: If you have more 4 or 5 stock trades, it is very time consuming entering one at a time
Pros: I bought or sold investments

The good and bad

It is an easy task. I like to complete it, let it sit for a while, and then review all my entries again. I found some corrections to make. I'd like to see more guidance on how to make corrections.
Printing was ok, but lacked a path back from the print page to the tax part
What's great about it: The interview process works very well
What's not so great: Correction, review and printing were a bit clumbersome

Always excellent hand holding. Each year it gets easier with TURBO...it's the data collection at my end that seems to get more difficult to capture.... DWC2
What's great about it: "fill in the blanks"
What's not so great: trying to pay for state this time
