POOR EXPERIENCE

I HAVE USED TURBO TAX FOR YEARS BUT I WILL NOT PURCHASE IT AGAIN.
MY EXPERIENCE THIS YEAR WAS BOTH CONFUSING AND BAD. THE DIFFERENT FORMAT WAS A BIG NEGATIVE.

Taught an Old Dog a New Trick

Overall very easy to use, I recommend TurboTax to all !
What's great about it: Simple, straight forward and pleasant to use even for an elderly person !
What's not so great: Little confusing if you want to stop inputting data and create a file which you can come back to later.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Continuous Improvement

Handling of K-1 data by Turbo Tax needs to be improved, specifically, 16G for foreign interest expense that kept generating error message, better instructions on reimporting data from "Rental Property Manager" when changes are made in "Rental Property Manager", it kept creating a new Schedules E rather than replacing (it could have asked if I wanted to replace or create a new Schedule E) and it was difficult to remove the newly created Schedule E
What's great about it: In general Turbo Tax is easy to use
What's not so great: K-1 data handling, importing data from "Rental Property Manager"

Dumb new requirements

I am a retired CPA. I do a few returns for friends - free of charge. I encourage them to e-file, both to save federal funds and filing ease. This year, I finally convinced this friend to e-file. He refused to add another level of I.D. into the government system. Rather than get state ID card info into my system (and the IRS), this year I advised them to mail. What's next , passport copies, finger prints, and/or DNA? Way to go! If the IRS can not protest identities maybe they should get out of the business of collecting it! p.s : Changed my rating after completing this review

Amazing!

My wife and I must assist each other because of disability, and we asked for a down load and a disk to permit use of 2 computers and Turbo tax agreed, for which we are most grateful. Thank you! To be able to e-file both Federal and State tax returns is wonderful, particularly for those living in remote areas.
What's great about it: PERMIT 2 PEOPLE TO Work Together (for disabled)
What's not so great: Turbo tax had difficulty identifying me by any method
