I've been using TurboTax for years....so intuitive and easy to use. I really love the downloading capabilities for the W2 and all the investments. Will walk you through the details or you can go to the sections you'll need. Best way to do taxes in my opinion!
What's great about it: Easy, intuitive, organized, love the download capabilities
What's not so great: It's taxes!

After having my accountant wife take care of taxes for 35 years, i was suddenly faced with the task when she passed away in late 2015. Needless to say, i was not an experienced user. Although, we did review all submissions together, my interest was tepid at best. There were a few questions early on that were answered later in the preparation. Capital Gains were worrisome, but were easily conquered with an auto download from the brokerage. all-in-all a very easy experience. Hopefully, it will end well. It just seemed too simple...

change of email address

when getting ready to efile my returns it asks me to confirm my email address . .I am about to relocate and will be moving in a few weeks so I know I will have a new email address . . .I entered the new one ........ THEN . . .I got to wanting to pay by credit card and your software didn't like the old address (which is what was in my "existing account", right? And when I try using the new email it doesn't like my old passwords or any new one I can dream up . . . . . Finally it bounced me all the way online to re-enter all of my credit card info and, I guess, I no longer have an "existing account" . . . I guess I don't care.

Make the state return part of the original price of the product.
What's great about it: I have used Turbo Tax Premier many years. The previous year information is very helpful when adjacent.
What's not so great: Foreign Tax Credit is a struggle every year. It is always about the same but wants different boxes filled that change.

I liked TurboTax because it took you through each step. I really appreciated the expert help when I got stuck. Will be using TurboTax from now on.
What's great about it: Easy Available help

Turbo Experience

I have been using this product since it first started out as MacInTax!!! I guess I just have to get use to the "handholding" But it makes it more difficult for a "seasoned veteran" like myself. Eventually I could find everything. I liked the Review and Error checking features.
What's great about it: It worked!
What's not so great: With too much automation, the system is clumsy for me.
