Worked in the end

The first disappointment was that it couldn't merge our last years Turbo Tax files into a joint return. Mine had more on it last year so we had to import mine and manually add my wife's info from scratch.
Entering charitable donations you are forced to enter only what is on a list and if what you donated isn't on the list there is no place to type in a name/description even if you take the I'll list them myself approach.
The dividends from last year showed up in a list with an edit and delete button. I selected edit to put in the new numbers as I usually do and it created new records instead of editing the existing so they were now doubled and I had to delete all the doubles. Had to go back to help and found others had the same problem with Turbo Tax and the work around was to switch to form view and enter the numbers there. It worked but the problem should have been fixed by now there are only a couple of weeks to the deadline.

Forms Completed Automatically

Easy to use, despite complicated investment data to be entered. Automatic download from financial companies into the correct forms, including detailed stock descriptions, dates, prices, etc.
What's great about it: Automatic download from financial companies into forms
What's not so great: Not always returned down to the next section to be done

Wish the two year comparison was more detailed to help with double checking and better linking to the actual form for review.

It's a very nice, simple program.
Makes doing the taxes a breeze.
Some complex terms just referred to unintelligible source information; should be re-stated in plain and simple English if possible.

Supurb a usual!

Been using the product for over 20 years. Gets better every year. The ease of uploading previous year's data is exceptional. Comparision of previous year's data is a very good tool to avoid missing key deductions and or income items.
What's great about it: Easy to use

I've used this software for years. It works well for me. I'm not smart, but I do carefully consider that what I am entering is accurate.
What's great about it: helpful in determining deductions
What's not so great: still must think things through carefully
