Makes life easier

Everything about turbotax is excellent. My only complaints is it seems the prompts for gas royalties do not address the royalties. It goes directly to questions about rental properties.
What's great about it: Takes you step by step with every detail
What's not so great: Some prompts don't seem to have the right options

1099B guided entry failed

All was well until a 1099B came up with "Various" for the purchase dates on the form for employ purchased stocks which were sold. The Q&A got stuck and would not complete the worksheet without entering dates which were not on the 1099 I had to go directly to the schedule and enter manually. It is possible that the Q&A did not like the use of the word Multiple as used on my 1099 and I tried to enter but the program did accept it. After about an hour, deleting all the 1099 worksheets and going direct to the schedule I got the information in.
What's great about it: Works great til it doesn't
What's not so great: Q&A sometimes fails

Tried to print for filing and program runs me around in circles.
Keeps asking me to save a pdf or print a review copy. I check pdf and get a pdf copy but still can't get past that page

past year were better

I missed entering my state income tax. Never in the review did it ever say" Hey wait, you never entered your state income tax withheld. You would thing if it was comparing last years to this year the system would have noticed the error.
What's not so great: Didn't like this years as much as past years layout seemed off.

The Devil is in the Detail

I had problems getting the e-file PIN for my wife and I. Customer Support at Turbo Tax is excellent. No waiting, they simply call you back in the same order you called them!
What's great about it: ease of step my step input AND information data base
What's not so great: nothing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Great Back up

I couldn't open my TurboTax Premier program without accepting the latest update. But the update couldn't pass my firewall or got stopped before completing the download.
To the rescue came an expert who patiently walked me through a variety of steps to dump the original program before sending its replacement.
What's great about it: Great Tech Support
What's not so great: Automatic updates don't download easily to Mac's.

Smooth Ride Tax Time

This is my 14th year using Turbo Tax and it gets easier each year. The only thing easier than using this software is the proposed flat tax concept. Only time will tell. Until then I will keep using Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: easy flow of information with downloading of past year information.
What's not so great: Having to pay taxes

A Breeze

Doing my taxes this year couldn't have gone any smoother...well, yes it could have. When I got to my state taxes, the software kept showing we owed $1160 to Ohio with no Ohio tax withheld. Knowing this not to be the case, I checked back at the W-2 and taxes withheld area and noticed I had entered OKLAHOMA, not OHIO. Like I said, human error.
Once that was corrected, I just breezed through the rest, including a spate of capital gains/losses which went smoother than at any time in the past. The prompting of the software kept things focused and I was done with a fairly complicated return in a little less than two hours.
I always have a professional check my work and file for us but I am confident that Turbo did it right.
Thanks once again for an outstanding product!
What's great about it: Easy to use, everything spelled out in a logical progression
What's not so great: Human error...mine...always a possibility
