"Reset Password" Infinite Loop
on March 28, 2016
Posted by: JimTheFrazzled
The software goes into a "Reset Password" infinite loop when you try to pay using a credit card if you do not have access to a cell phone. TurboTax should specify that you need to type your cell phone number (not just your phone number) for account verification. What a huge pain.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

No one likes to be nickle and dimed . Stop with the state e-file fees.
What's great about it: if you can read English you can do taxes
What's not so great: extra fee for state e-file
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Quick and Easy

I have used TurboTax for 25 years now. I feel it does a good job and gives one an easy method of filing each year. Yes, I have been audited several times during these 25 years. They just wanted to see supporting documents for the forms I filed, no extra taxes due or penalties.. Just that would make me recommend TurboTax to anyone.
What's great about it: Seems to cover all aspects needed for filing my taxes
What's not so great: Some of the forms that are printed out did not seem to reflect my present tax conditions

Love TurboTax!

Since my tax situation hasn't changed much over the last few years, importing from the prior year really helps a lot.
In case there were new law changes that radically changed, I always read the prompts for each section to be sure that they do or do not apply to me this year.
What's great about it: Easy walk-through with good explanation windows

2015 Return

8/10. Worksheets should feed back into forms. TT should be able to clean up issues with worksheets; for example, the health care summary checks each individual box when the option to check the whole year is available. Still, overall a very good product.
The survey constraints are annoying!
What's great about it: Has almost everything you need transfers from previous years.
What's not so great: TT Help community not always correct. Some errors on worksheets that seem to be generally known (based on TT Help Chat)
