2016 tax

I found the software very intuitive and pretty straight forward to navigate.

Great program, sneaky with funds

I resent having to pay for the Audit Defense when my audit risk is very low. I could not find out how to file with paying the extra fee.
What's great about it: Walks you through everything
What's not so great: I could not get away from the add on Audit Defense charge

I thought that the basic charge for TurboTax Premium included printing both federal and state.
I think that it should be clearer that filing the state return costs a lot more.

Good except:
1. The program saved multiple versions of the return apparently simultaneously; using ~ and ~~ in front of the file names. A file was also saved with no ~ in front of the file name. There was no indication of which file was the latest. This is new for 2015 and very confusing.
2. In the MA software, the step by step was confusing for the medical insurance coverage. I am covered by Medicare. There was no clarification to tell me whether this counts as MMC or not. Only by trial and error (seeing whether there was a penalty or not) was I able to discern that I did have MMC.

I have used turbo tax for years and it saves time and does all the calculations. It gets higher deductions for non cash contributions than I would normally take. the import feature posts all gains and losses and dividends and interest
What's great about it: Import from financial institutions
What's not so great: did not import state id on tax exempt interest could not figure out how to import K-1
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've used TurboTax for the Mac since its inception. Taxes get more and more complicated but TurboTax doesn't! Thanks.

Excellent Product

I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years. I am always impressed with how easy it is to use. I like the new feature this year which allows me to e-file and pick a later date to actually pay my Federal tax. I also like how easy it is to move from the federal to the state return & then e-file both at the same time.
What's great about it: Very easy to use
