Learning from doing taxes with turbo

What's great about it: Program ease of use. saved money over CPA. Able to understand my tax situation more intimately with the tool
What's not so great: handling home depreciation was challenging as day care provider. Not as easy to follow.

Verry good product

The TurboTax software executed without error. I started and stopped several times and the load times were reasonable. The sequence of questions seemed logical and the answer selection was good. I believe the process was complete

What's great about it: Easy to install and use.
What's not so great: A few questions required extra help and review to answer orrectly

2015 Tax

Trouble trying to load program, slow. In filing slow to open intuit site. For the cost too much work.
What's great about it: Your in Control, mostly
What's not so great: Confusing at times, did not wxplain well some of the questions

I have been using Turbotax software for over 20 years. Every year the application gets even easier to prepare both the Federal Return and State Return. I really do not understand why someone would pay the fees to a tax preparation service.
What's great about it: You don't really have to know the IRS Tax Code
What's not so great: You do have to read the questions and pay attention to the detail

Love Turbo Tax

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and it makes even my complicated return easy to do. It doesn't let me forget anything. And the e-file feature is wonderful.
What's great about it: Easy to use and the importing is wonderful.
What's not so great: Had trouble getting Audit Defense - had to call in.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

AMT and also 1099-MISC

AMT: TT asked to input data from prior year schedules when this should be available within TT from prior year return. TT was confusing because often the info actually was pulled in from prior year but they wanted me to enter it anyway or at least verify it which is not easy to do/find!
1099-MISC: entering consulting revenue and expenses was confusing. In summarizing income, prior year column showed what I entered from 1099-MISC and current year column did not, even though I had entered it. For both years the revenue and expense ended up consistently reported on Schedule C-EZ but the summary revenue input page was confusing!

A bit more awkward than last year

I found the interface a bit more awkward than in the past and some of the screens were more of an annoyance than helpful. I gave up trying to find how to apply my state refund to next year, since the help instructions weren't accurate.

Mcuh work

When making a mistake on a K-1 form entry with the letters under a box, I couldn't delete that letter once I was in the review process. Had to start over on that MLP data entry..
What's great about it: handling all the forms and math
What's not so great: K-1 form entry cumbersome
