So-so

Some information needs to be filled again and again instead of Turbo tax remembering what has already been entered once. Does not automatically link parent's and child's taxes when needed (e.g. for form 8615). 529 distributions are erroneously taxed as Turbo-Tax tries to reduce the allowed education expenses. Software for one additional State is charge very high fee.
What's great about it: Does most of the computations automatically consistent with the current Tax law.
What's not so great: Tedious and cumbersome.

When having taxes from investments that are taxed by foreign countries, TurboTax is still behind. It is not possible to include all countries that are taxing different stocks or bonds. It charged all to one only country
This area has been problematic to turbotax all the product life.
What's great about it: Good that is there
What's not so great: Still does not help too much

Import didn't work for previous foreign tax credid

I do not find the staff at Turbotax to be particularly knowledgeable in foreign tax situations. I always have to go figure it out myself. I would expect Turbotax help in the Premier package to be better in this area than it is. The import process from last year did not include my unused foreign tax credits. I was virtually finished when I had to start all over again with a new import to make sure that everything was recorded properly. The entire sheet was blank. Also, I do not need states that I used in the past. There is no way to get rid of them. I have to keep downloading them. Turbotax should ask me I if want them and have the option to decline.
What's great about it: Once the nuances are figured out, the program is consistent year to year allowing you to more easily enter your data
What's not so great: It is very hard to understand what the intent is. I often have to do more research that Turbotax should answer.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Very easy to enter and intuitive. Would have liked for state return to be free or included in price when I bought TurboTax
What's great about it: Very intutive
What's not so great: Could use a better Q&A to find things

Nowhere here to enter PA Local Earned Income Tax Return for PA. Our school district taxes are pretty wiggy here.
What's great about it: Easy to install & walks you through each step
What's not so great: Got hung up at few spots, so I had to close out and reopen

Fairly robust, but less good than previously

The program works efficiently but has far too little information on exactly what it wants. I ended up with lots of blank forms. There is no contextual help, the help button sends one to a website with loads of irrelevant information to me problem. Many times the program just went catatonic, with a little spinning ball, leaving me to wonder what was going on. I went back, saved my work, then exited and restarted, and then things worked. But I had to do this half a dozen times.
What's great about it: Makes most entries clear.
What's not so great: No contextual help or form bowsing
Pros: I bought or sold investments

What's great about it: Easy to understand. (almost)
What's not so great: The State taxes need in the State program./
