very good for first time

it was good for first time user. most was straight forward and easy. not knowing the e-filing pin was a bit of hassle.
some of the stock investments and state questions was bit challenging.

What's great about it: step by step guide and work on your own pace

I always have 20 or 30 pages of 1099 from my broker. In turbo tax it downloads everything and takes care of it all for me in minutes. Faster, cheaper and more reliable than going to tax accountants.
What's great about it: Fast
What's not so great: Expensive compared to other tax sw.

I've used Turbo Tax for many years and wouldn't consider any competitors. The program is comprehensive and easy to follow. I have considerable experience with taxes but this program will easily help someone who is less experienced and possibly nervous about doing their own taxes. Turbo Tax makes it a breeze and you just don't worry.
What's great about it: Easy to follow

Generally easy and complete

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years and plan to keep using it. I like the clean form presentation for entry of the actual data. I would like to see some of the pages with a single question combined onto one page. It would also be nice if it would recognize that a form is from the same source as a prior form and copy address, FID etc.
The problems with 1099-R import of Box 9 and the review process need to be fixed. Having to delete and manually enter the data is a real pain (especially when you have a lot of them)
What's great about it: Covers all needed forms clearly
What's not so great: too many individual question screens and import problems
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

The software is very easy to use.
The instructions are clear and a good feature is only having to put repeated data (same data for Fed and state(s)) in once.

Some bugs

Have used Turbotax for years, always with good results. Even after last years kerfluffal. This year the program kept freezing requiring me to shut it down and restart to continue. It would go into calculating mode and stay there. Also there was one issue concerning IRAs. The question was if I had any withdrawals but when I said yes suddenly it would save it as a deposit. Never did figure this out so I went in and deleted that particular form.
What's great about it: Easy entry of data
What's not so great: Freezing and one possible bug

a bit slow and stalled

I've used Turbo Tax for years and this year seemed a bit slower as the software would stall and I'd have to keep using the "back" button and/or closing and re-opening. Not sure why. I had made sure that my software was fully updated.

The software is quite good. Being able to bring in the preceding year's data is a great help. Stepping through all the sections is very useful. The automatic checking and double checking is greatly appreciated. The structure of the application is also useful in helping to collect and organize the information that is requested by the software each year. I appreciate the automatic renewal and receiving the forms each fall.
All in all, TurboTax is an easy to use, reliable, and accurate product. I do not hesitate recommending it to others.
What's great about it: Easy to use; accurate; comprehensive;
What's not so great: None at this time.
