Helpful software, but occasionally frustrating

TurboTax software works great and does just about everything you could want to help prepare yearly taxes. However, the extent to which, even after purchasing the high-level software, you are prompted, encouraged, and forced to purchase additional components is frustrating beyond mention. While I am happy with the results, I am unlikely to use TurboTax in the future do to these frustrations and that with the various upcharges, costs about the same as working in person with a professional.
What's great about it: Walks you through the process; helpful information on why you need to do what you are doing
What's not so great: Many upsells that are required
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Easy to use Tips were easy to understand

First time I filed the taxes usually my husband did this. Turbo Tax is easy to use and the walk through the forms was helpful. I also liked that information was downloaded for me because we have used Turbo Tax since 2008.
What's great about it: Ease of step by step walk through and large font

Crashes a lot

I've used turbo tax every year and it's been great. But, this year, I have had to quit the software quite a bit since it crashed a lot or hung while saving or doing whatever it was doing.

Disappointed

I've used TT for approx 20 yrs, with consistent good results. This year my experience has been just the opposite. Contacted customer service to change the email address on my Intuit acct...when this was done, I was linked to another customers acct. Several more phone calls to correct, some of which were not successful. Still not sure if its totally fixed (and still not confident in my account's security!) When filing my return, the final review indicated no errors...when getting ready to transmit return, errors found in non-existent W-2. Can't help but wonder if my security concerns aren't valid. Will be looking for another Tax software next year.
What's great about it: Ability to import prior yr data
What's not so great: Problems with acct security, errors detected during review that were nonexistent

not sure why I upgraded

Because I converted a house I was living in to a rental mid-year, I upgraded to premier assuming it would provide benefit to dividing mortgage interest and taxes between the period I lived in the house to when it was a rental. No benefit at all as far as I can tell. It did not do any of the calculations for me. And the description of personal use is confusing.
What's great about it: Have used TT for years and find it useful
What's not so great: upgraded from Deluxe to premier and saw no advantage
