Super Tax Preparation Software

I have been using TurboTax for 16 years and it is the best tax prep software! I have had some complex tax challenges over this time (Estate Executor, Stock options, moving a large amount of mutual funds, etc) and they were all relatively easy to do the tax return with TurboTax.
What's great about it: Easy to use, can selectively tailor what categories to use or skip, easy to file
What's not so great: getting to the save as .pdf file is not as intuitive as the rest of the application

Simplified filing

I like Turbo tax because it allows me to make changes easily and focus on issues and not the math.
What's great about it: Very help with donation valuations & Cap gains (losses)
What's not so great: Sometimes too many questions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments, I moved

Very easy to use and completed my taxes quickly. Had a few software glitches but was able to find work arounds going through their help link.

Valuable Option

Tax law has become so complex I don't believe the average taxpayer can do his own taxes using only government forms and instructions. TurboTax software does the work, but allows an individual to feel he has assisted in computing his taxes.
What's great about it: If you can follow instructions, you can use TurboTax
What's not so great: Doing taxes once a year is still complex

Been using the turbo tax product since the 90's Never a problem. Always completed taxes in a timely period. Will buy and use it again next near.
What's great about it: All 10's
What's not so great: none

Long time user, worst experience with TurboTax

Using TurboTax 2015 took about twice as long as it should have, as it froze up and/or crashed 3 times while I was preparing my taxes. After the first time, I made sure to save my work after every entry. Worst experience I've ever had with TurboTax. I will strongly consider going elsewhere next year.
What's great about it: Features are still solid
What's not so great: Crashed several times

Horribly cumbersome.

Horribly cumbersome. Review and correction of entries turns into a nightmare.
Example: If you need to answer "Yes" to the foreign bank account question, they end up running you through that loop over and over and over again.
Every time you want to double-check things - like add a deduction you forgot, Turbo Tax makes you re-answer all the questions over again.

This problem exists throughout the program.
If you are in a hurry and try to get past an "already answered question", it's very likely you will accidently change your first answer.
They need a box you can check: "___ Don't ask this question again. I answered it correctly last time."
What's great about it: Cheap. But you get what you pay for.
What's not so great: Very cumbersome. Easy to mess up your return.

TurboTax Experience

The instructions for TTax re tax exempt accounts is confusing if you're trying to split out what State taxes what and how much is taxed by the Feds. The explanation should be a whole lot clearer, especially the "Adjustments" page.
What's great about it: Mostly a straight forward program.
What's not so great: Insufficient info available for anything out of the oridinary.
