Have used Turbotax for years. Continues to be good.
What's great about it: Easy to understand and to fill out
What's not so great: Periodically would have to wait for the computer to think. It may be my machine.

Somewhat simple

Foreign tax credit step-by-step instructions are very difficult so I chose to take the deduction instead of the credit. For my daughters return she didn't have a tax bill so she was not allowed any foreign tax credit but the step-by-step didn't clearly say that her foreign taxes paid were unusable. I had to go to the forms to find this out.
What's great about it: simple
What's not so great: foreign tax credit/deduction functionality could be better

"calculating" problem

It froze multiple times (apple version) and I had to do the "Force Quit" function. Very frustrating and now I'm not so sure of the accuracy of the end result.

Great program with excellent support

I always had an accountant doing my taxes. I retired and this is my third year using Turbotax Premier. I actually enjoy doing my taxes now. Part of what makes it fun for me is that when I have errors the call in support offers very capable and personable support people.
Unfortunately TT support couldn't connect to my computer (Mac). It meant that a little more directed support time was needed. I was OK with it.
What's great about it: The program made doing my taxes relatively easy. Support was great with a few errors
What's not so great: Support people could not access my computer (Mac)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Best way to file and keep a record of all the completed forms in a pdf file.

As I worked on my return over the weeks, it would not always bring me back to where I left off, making me redo entries.
Had question about how to properly report CSA 1099 R data and related Simplified method worksheet and submitted question but never got any reply back so went on my own best guess.
What's great about it: lots of info
What's not so great: does not go back to where I left off

I've used TTax since the 1980's and it is always easy to understand and I like the carry over from year to year.
