One none existing error that after closing file and returning disappeared.
Unlike ever before, it continuously would be stuck in calculation mode, and you needed to force close Turbo Tax and re-open several times for the program to continue.
Any questions, like the error, were very difficult to obtain "help" one - there was no direct method for doing so. Needed to open the browser and do a search.

I just filed my return. appears to be accetable. Have used turbo tax in the past and have been very satisfied. Suspect my apprehension is more based on the irs rules then the turbo tax software. Never the less an excellent product for a very difficult system.
What's great about it: easy, step by step
What's not so great: nothing other then the irs rules

Next year's estimated quarterly pmts

TurboTax used to have a planning feature to forecast income and estimated quarterly tax payments. What happened? Now, estimated quarterly pmts. are based on some algorithm that estimates income will remain about the same. Deciding to pay off a mortgage may require a one time taxable IRA deduction that applies only to the current tax year. Why have it influence the upcoming estimated payments?
What's great about it: Quick & easy
What's not so great: no estimated income/ tax forcasting for next year

Easiest Tax Refund Tool!

I have used Turbo Tax products for many years now. It is the only way I choose to pay my taxes and request my refund. I see nothing changing my choices in the future. It is simply, the perfect Tax preparation solution!

Better this year

I've been using TurboTax for over 20 years (with the exception of using an accountant for 3 very complicated tax years). I find it to be generally easy to use. The interview format does a good job (with a one exception related to the complicated K-1 form) I purchased the TurboTax Premier as we have rental income and some fairly complicated K-1 issues from limited partnerships that we own. Anyone using TurboTax should have good records since it's only as good as the data one enters - "garbage in - garbage out". Also, this is not a program for the person who is easily distracted or who doesn't like "detail". However, if you're an organized person who doesn't mind poring over financial information, then this is the way to do your taxes. For everyone else, you'll have to pay someone and hope they get it right.
What's great about it: Much easier to follow this year compared to previous years
What's not so great: Some of the more complicated forms (K-1s for Partnerships) do not fully ask all of the needed questions

Taxes made Easy

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years and have no plans to change. It's very straight forward and tutorial in nature ... meaning you can dig-in and learn about various aspects of the tax code.
Even if you are uncomfortable with "things financial", Turbo Tax breaks-down preparation into bite-sized steps that all can manage.
What's great about it: It's like having "training wheels" on a bike.
What's not so great: It's a bit disconcerting to find that there are updates/changes well into the tax preparation period.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
