Turbo Tax The Good The Bad and the Ugly

First the Pro's:
I loved the way the Import W-2's Banking, and Financial Transactions has been expanded to include so many institutions. The import function allows me to separate accounts that are mine from my kids accounts which report on the same page at the brokerage accounts. This really is an improvement over a few years ago when I could only import all of the accounts and then delete the transactions that were not mine.

Cons: and UGLY
I could not FIND HELP on how the PIN signature system worked. I followed the little bit of help I could find and it lead me to a 45 minute on HOLD call to the IRS that ended up with the solution that I could just use last years AGI instead of a PIN.... But if I wanted a PIN there was a web page link on the signature page that took you directly to the IRS PIN page where you just entered in your (my) personal information and it generated a PIN for me on the spot. OUCH what a PAIN. The HELP pages REALLY NEED TO BE UPDATED. Particularly for those of us that have used PIN's in the past and forgotten them.

What's not so great: Could not find Help on how PIN's Work Prior to getting to that Page

This does it all

I have used Turbo for years and understand their system. It works for me. Sometimes they seem to make it harder than it really is. I was a tax preparer for four years and Turbo is as good as any commercial preparer and much cheaper.
What's great about it: Simple and straight forward
What's not so great: Some fields are hard to get back into if you know you are wrong

Gets better each year

I'm a former CPA (been out of practice many years), but the 2015 Premier Edition made doing my return as easy as can be. Other than Farm Income, which I don't have, I hit just about every other type of income, and TurbotTax really made it simple to enter. It's even easier than last year.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Haven't found any yet

2015 Premier

I have been using Turbo Tax since 2004 (maybe longer) and recommend it to my friends. They typically use a Tax Preparer. This was the first year we've dealt with Social Security computations and it was breeze. I hope it will be just as easy when i start to withdraw from 401, IRA and Roth...
What's great about it: fast and easy; uses info from previous year and gets info from banks electronically
What's not so great: I can't think of any

The software is easy to use and makes understanding the IRS forms much easier.
What's great about it: import most documents
What's not so great: I did get audited in 2014 even though I had a "low audit risk".

20+ years of turbo tax

I've been using turbo tax since they came out on 3.5 floppy disks. turbo tax is simpler (paper method) and cheaper than a cpa. I just wish they would stop the tier pricing basic/deluxe/premimum. the only difference is whats inputed
What's great about it: still one of the best out there
What's not so great: they always up sale their premium services
