Almost Perfect

This is a great product, and certainly saved us a lot of effort by automatically downloading and recording investment data. My only complaint is the program is not powerful enough to allow MFJ on Federal and MFS on state returns (we're active duty military with different homes of record). Filling out mock Federal returns to enable MFS in different states was painful. Still, I will highly recommend this program to anyone who asks.
What's great about it: Importing data and guiding decisions
What's not so great: Inflexiblity filing separately in state returns when MFJ Federal
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Following the step by step process allowed me to enter all the necessary to file a return for someone living and working abroad.

Program was pretty easy to use. Would like a button to go back and review my inputs when each section is done. Also, don't understand why, when my lightning strike loss was $1000, program kept putting in $900.

Hard to navigate on a laptop

overall, a good product, esp if your filings use minimal forms. It does the job though. A little surprised I was charged to do a state filing, I thought they were free for NY. Hard to work with on a laptop, have to drag scroll bar to go down. Also, should be able to shrink font to allow full page viewable on screen....sometimes have to scroll to hit 'continue'. Last, when doing a review, there should be some form of check mark next to each section...hard to remember subject heading after four or five income sections, etc.
