for the uncomplicated return the system is smooth except for the charitable donations part. the limited partner section is hard to get through
What's great about it: step by step simplisity
What's not so great: scrolling through every thing to get to where you were

A little confusing for me, but it got the job done

My taxes were more confusing than usual this year, so I had to sweat a little. I think (hope) it all worked out ok in the end. Did purchase the audit, just in case, to cover the extra issues, even though it predicted that my likelihood of being audited was low. I was disappointed that it didn't catch errors on the fly, even simple ones, like apparently requiring a check box for all foreign tax issues on US mutual funds, or requiring entries for AMT depreciation, even though I have nothing to do with AMT. Confusing to know how to find the errors it identified in review, until I learned to use the forms view. Would not have wanted to do all of this by hand!
What's great about it: Was able to handle my financials, home sale, etc
What's not so great: Didn't catch simple errors until the review; Confusing to know how to find the errors when identified

Third year in a row I've used TurboTax...quick and easy to use, remembers data as needed.
What's great about it: Fairly quick, complete. easy to e-file
What's not so great: Had to uninstall and reinstall...worked ok after that

Many times during preparation of the return, the computer locked up "calculating". Your help line said to "Force Quit". I had to do this 4-5 times to get through the return. I did not lose any work and Turbotax must save often. I hope this bug is remedied before next year.
Many years ago I used Turbotax for about 10 years, then for the last 5-6 years I had to use a CPA. My tax situation simplified so I am back to Turbotax. I had always done it on a PC before which I am reasonably literate on. Now my wife wanted an IMac for home so I have to learn Apple. Thanks
What's great about it: As easy as I remember
What's not so great: Now have an Apple IMac, was still easy except for a glitch on your software I will note below

I have been using Turbotax for many years. It is still a work in progress. This year there were several times where the program kept cycling and I had to shut the computer down. I would appreciate a bug free return, An active help desk, and font sizes that are flexible.
What's great about it: it worked
What's not so great: still buggy
Pros: I bought or sold investments
