Pretty good!

Overall, really good experience. Steps you through all the forms. Helped me out! I even used the online help and solved a question quickly. I did get a little confused with the 1099-G forms and had to correct it when I went back through on my own. Would recommend!
What's great about it: Helpful!
What's not so great: Pricey
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Hidden Fees

Premier isn't that great for investments. I don't know why they charge extra saying it's for investments when it doesn't seem to do much for me.
What's great about it: Gets it done!
What's not so great: They keep adding fees. It used to be free to efile state, now they charge for it.

You made me buy 2 separate programs. 1 for my LLC and 1 for my personal taxes. You should make a product that does both.

What's not so great: need to allow 1 product for partnership llc

Under errors found, you do not tell me where to find the item that needed correcting. Too esoteric. A link back to the point of the error would have been helpful.
In researching the forms, I did not see an obvious route to the form's reference to "see instructions." I can download them from the IRS web site but perhaps making a more obvious link to them would be helpful.
I do like how you have the previous year's return available for comparison. This is helpful.

Gets better every year

This is very helpful. I've been using for at least 10 years--when it was called "MacIntax". As my finances became more complex as retirement neared, then happened, the program sort of evolved with my needs. I don't think this should be used by a naive computer person, or one who hasn't messed with taxes before. There is proprietary tax language that can stall you; BUT there is a very well produced help service which I have used in the past.
What's great about it: Complete, mostly very logical and intuitive
What's not so great: Can get stuck during review when told to change/add something. I needed a prompt to get to proper sub menu. Took 20 min.

I have been using turbotax for over 10 years. It is extremely easy to follow the step by step questions. Now that you can download from your financial institutions and don't have to type the information yourself, it is even easier!
What's great about it: Step by step questions make it very easy to complete your return.
What's not so great: none
