I've used Turbo tax for the last 7 years and have been very pleased. It really does help you to get the best refund.
What's great about it: Pulls prior year refund information and compares current year return with the prior year return
What's not so great: hard to find explanation for some things without referring to other sources, such as business codes and passive activity

This customer did not provide a text review.
What's great about it: Intuitive, easy to follow step-by-step instructions, prod for potential sources of income and deduction
What's not so great: Some of the items in the income section are hidden or moved to different categories making it difficult to compare
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Over estimated taxes due

I spent over 4 hours trying to figure out why Turbotax stated that I owed tax for using a 529 distribution for qualified educational expenses. I found out through the internet that Turbotax does not adjust or flag that because I was not eligible for for Education credits that I needed to go back and change the amount of qualified education expenses used to calculate potential credits to zero. Other users also encountered this issue in 2015 and 2014 and Intuit still has not corrected this. In my case tax due was over stated by $1000.
What's great about it: Imports last years Turbotax file
What's not so great: Does not properly apply qualified education expenses against 529 distribution, resulting in to much tax due.

The program is frustrating to work with. It is full of inconsistencies, e.g., continuing a return does not always take you to where you left off, walking through the deductions section inserts new sections in the middle of completed sections, and it is not obvious which sections have already been completed as it does not automatically enter $ 0 in the unused sections. The "Help" sections are not very helpful. If I didn't already have over 10 years of taxes in TurboTax, I would not use the program.
What's not so great: Charitable contributions REALLY should be in alphabetical order

PRETTY POOR

YOU REALLY NEED TO WORK ON PRINTING OPTIONS. IT CUTS OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE SO I NEED TO GO TO PDF PREVIEW AND PRINT AT 90 PERCENT TO FIT THE PAGE. ALSO THE PROGRAM TRIES TO FORCE ME TO EFILE AT A COST. I'M NOT PLEASED
What's great about it: DOES MOVE INFORMATION FROM LAST YEAR TO THIS YEAR
What's not so great: VERY POOR PRINTING. WOULD NOT LET ME JUST PRINT THE STATE FORM. HAD TO GO TO PDF PREVIEW TO PRINT STATE FORM.

What's not so great: only 1 state tax allowed
