Fast and Easy

I retired last year, and TurboTax helped me seamlessly integrate my final pay, pension and Social Security. The tax forms were easer than I anticipated.
What's great about it: Helped me with my first year of retirement.
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I didn't know turbo tax didn't efile state anymore. This may be the last time using this service

My taxes filed in less than 4 hrs

I can see where a user can be frustrated from the start. For the last 3 years every time I have tried to reset my account password using the I forgot my password link on my Mac with either chrome or safari I have been unsuccessfull and have always had to contact customer support. Their response has always been prompt and the situation resolved. If you purchased the software on line you may have difficulty finding the 800 support number. The automated attendant worked quite well.
I have had some issues this year with forms properly updating after importing data - eventually after deleting the imported form data from the previous year ( had to do this with one of our 1099-misc forms) the form properly updated.
Had to shut the application down manually three times (make sure you save your data periodically) - seemed to be sitting in a spinning loop for over 5 minutes each time - it never crashed - just seemed stuck and would not respond.
What's great about it: Good question and guide guidance system
What's not so great: Not always the clearest

TurboTax Makes Democracy Easy

TurboTax is life enhancing to me. I love the summaries of my tax situation, the importation of data from almost all my accounts, and the rich information available. I am so happy to be done with taxes in such a pleasurable way! I (almost) look forward to doing taxes as a way to review my financial position thanks to TurboTax.

After procrastinating and delaying filing my taxes because I though it is a lengthy and difficult process, I gave TurboTax a shot.

Overall a great experience. The interview takes you through every aspect of your income and deductions. I had a few situations that I needed to contact TurboTax Support and they were patient and helpful. I had also used the community help to get some questions answered. They were mostly helpful but a few questions were not answered so i had to review the IRS forms to determine how to handle. It all worked out and my returns were filed and accepted.
I've used Turbo tax in previous years to file simple returns for my kids, but 2015 was the 1st year I used TT-Premier for my own return. It handled my situations (rental properties and investments) well, but I needed to do a little research to get the information entered correctly. next year should be much easier. Thanks for a great product.

minor error and confusing

It seems like they may have changed the question wordings and how they display data imported from 2014 version. I'm not positive because I don't remember clearly how I navigated 2014. I found it cumbersome to go back and revise an entry when I found errors because I had to go thru a string of questions. Perhaps, I'm just not aware of how to directly access the entry I need.
I file Ct state tax and incurred a penalty in 2014 for underpaying my tax. The penalty is not deductible on 2015 Fed tax return.The minor bug is that TT imports the tax paid plus the penalty. One of the questions/entries is '2014 tax paid in 2015' . TT imported the correct amt as a grayed in figure, suggesting I could change it if I wished. Initially, I 'accepted' the grayed in figure. Later, I realized TT also imported somewhere else that figure plus the penalty. This more than doubled the correct tax figure.
I contacted customer service and she understood my issue and showed me that I could correct the figure by entering a negative adjustment figure to reduce the final tax figure to the proper amt. Customer Service was excellent.

Tax Season Made Easy

Used free edition tax preparation last year. Will never use it again. Did have problems getting the WiFi printer to print my return. Love the way Turbo Tax calculates everything. All I had to do was either download the info into Turbo Tax or input the information.
What's great about it: Easy To Use
What's not so great: Only the Side slider to move down the page difficult to use
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
