What's great about it: Fairly easy to use
What's not so great: Trying to figure out how to enter restricted stock information was not straight forward. Why do you hide it.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Tax preparation was flawless.
Application updates never worked on OS X 10.9.5. I had to manually capture the update file from a hidden location before it was deleted. Cannot imagine the typical user having to deal with this. Has not been a problem in past years.
What's great about it: Tax Preparation was flawless.
What's not so great: Updates did not work on OS X.

TT allows a nominee reduction on taxable interest but not for tax free, having a nominee reduction for tax free interest on a 1099INT matters for SS taxable calculations and medicare premiums.
There is no way to input if you own less than 100% of the amounts shown on a 1099B .
Both of these need to be addressed!
What's great about it: worked much smoother than in past years
What's not so great: No way to input nominee amount for tax free interest shown on a 1099INT or any nominee on 1099B

This is a fast and efficient way to file our taxes. Although ours isn't complicated, it would still be much more difficult for me to do on my own. The only thing that I would like to mention is that there were times when I couldn't answer a question right away. The program does not go back to that page automatically. You have to start the whole section again. Also, some forms I received were not included. I had to search for them and then they showed up. All in all, it is a great program for our taxes.
What's great about it: I can download all brokerage information
What's not so great: Brokerage download isn't ready when I want to do my taxes.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Instructions for each topic/item are very clear, with further assistance one click away. Combined wisdom of the user community seems to take care of anything that slipped through the cracks.
I've been using this software for over 15 years. and it has never led me astray or into the auditors' clutches. Generally, I've found Intuit software packages to be accurate and easy to use. Very reassuring for a mathmoron:-)
What's great about it: Frightfully easy to use and support is great
What's not so great: I can recommember none

Almost as easy as past years

First year in over 12 that I had any problems using Turbo Tax. Used the Premier version, it was OK until I almost got to the end and realized it didn't add last years refund. It should have done that automatically. Instead I had to go through my files to find last years return for the exact amount and add it.
I've expected Turbo Tax to do that as it has done in many previous years. I felt it added to many extra steps that should not have been necessary. Very annoying.
What's not so great: Did not automatically add last years (2014) refund to 2015.
