Great Tool

While working on finishing review the check system will not let you continue even if the info you entered is correct..
What's great about it: Easy to use and quick
What's not so great: Wont let you continue if what you entered was correct but the program thinks it is not correct.

Rocky year

First, I like TT and have used it for more than 15 years. I don't know why, but this year TT on my iMac was very buggy, freezing often. It was not the quality experience I enjoyed in previous years. Please fix this for next year.
Also, I have noticed that while the Easy Step process seems to get better every year, the AMT section is very difficult to figure out. It seems like it could be better automated to match the rest of the Easy Step process. The AMT section is stuck in a lot of arcane tax terminology. Why can't the AMT section better reference my previous year's return and information I already entered for the current year's return? Fixing the AMT section would be great.
What's great about it: The Easy Step process seems more streamlined than ever.
What's not so great: 1) Turbo Tax kept freezing on my iMac. 2) The AMT section is very confusing and should be further automated.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

advising the need for drive license at beginning would have saved some submittal issues since we did not have it available at completion so we lost a day in submittal for all of the returns.
What's great about it: good process for family...4 returns, mine,doughter,mother in law,brother
What's not so great: having prior year data entry is a big help

It would be nice if TurboTax Business could download K-1's to my
1040 form directly. My own personal K-1 is the only one that I can't download directly, must be entered manually. Should be easy for that to happen since both programs on same computer.

I got frustrated in preparing State of California return. I was on "Penalty Tax on Early Distribution", I have to click on
"continue", upon clicking , software has to calculate.
It was calculating for over an hour like it was stucked.
so I exit of the program and turned off my IMAC.

So I turned my IMAC back on, and did the same procedure again, it did it again, like it was tucked again.
What's not so great: hanged up on State of California review

Good but....

Turbo Tax is easy to use, but the negative is I need to file with two states and turbo tax not only charges for the second state tax program but then charges another high fee to file the federal and two state taxes. I would expect since I purchased the all programs from Turbo Tax that they would file with no additional charges. makes no sense to charge that second fee. not nice.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Expense too much for states taxes

User Interface Needs Improvement

This year the software crashed multiple times while I was entering information. I would also like the entry screens credit for taxes paid to other states improved. Instead of picking states one by one, list all states and let the user check boxes. Then the next screen could list all of the states with column/fields for income and taxes paid.
What's great about it: I can download my federal K-1 directly into the software
What's not so great: The screens for entering credit for taxes paid to other states could be vastly improved

Easy and Convenient

I used to pride myself on doing my taxes by hand and TurboTax just makes everything easier - I don't have to cross reference what each credit means, they ask me all the appropriate questions and determine if a certain exemption or credit is right for me. Saves me a ton of time.
What's great about it: Guided me through each step, information when you need it
