Test of Patience

Trying to update the product to get the latest forms, schedules, etc., was an extremely frustrating experience. So much so that after digging around looking for solutions, it eventually turned out that the recommended fix was to rely on a hard connection to the internet. In my own case, I ended up downloading a manual update file provided by Intuit. Finding this solution was a hunt and seek exercise that consumed an enormous amount of time and effort. In prior years of use of Turbo Tax products I have never experienced this level of technical frustration with the product. This leads me to suspect that the product is getting worse as it matures.
What's great about it: The touch and feel of the 2015 Premier edition is consistent with prior year's products.
What's not so great: Updating the product wirelessly does not work.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Another year done easily with TurboTax

Great product. Easy to use and helped out in places I didn't think about. Easy to install, step by step with answers and questions to thoroughly consider all aspects. Loved that it uses last years TurboTax forms to fill in personal data that does not change.
What's great about it: Step by step process
What's not so great: in spots making changes required to run thru entire subset

2015 not the best turbo tax product

Original disc had scratch and was unable to load. Customer service recommended using online product. Online not clear as to the rates and differences between online and downloading a disc. What a price difference. We went back to the store and purchased another disc...loading sounded like a garbage disposal. Program would "lock-up" and indicate "calculating" when there were no calculations needed. This is the first year that I've been disappointed with the product!

The data entry was clear, as were the instructions for entering data in the fields. I have a medium complex form, and had no need for additional assistance.
What's great about it: Easy well guided data entry
What's not so great: pop-up windows and overlays would not allow us to move window underneath

Easy to file

I have been using Turbo Tax for at least 8 years. Taxes are made extremely simple by just answering questions and filling in the blanks. It makes me feel more confident that my return is complete and correct. It assures me that I have taken every possible deduction and will receive my best possible tax situation. I have recommended this program to many people over the years and they find that it is easy. There are many ways to get extra support in doing your taxes, but I have never used them. The software is so user friendly and the helps are complete. It is the only way to prepare tax returns!!
What's great about it: Easy, accurate, safe, support provided, very thorough, intuitive
What's not so great: Can't think of anything

Frustration

My 2014 return was a victim of identity theft. I cannot get a pin to e-file. I entered the identity theft pin given to us to use to file our return but it is not showing on the return. I will have to write it in. I cannot e-file and that is disappointing.
What's great about it: Ease of entering data
What's not so great: Incomplete data after entering it
