Big Help!

Had a relatively complex return. Sailed right through it. Only problem I had was in the Foreign Tax deduction area. It wasn't clear that the amount of dividends received on which foreign taxes were paid was supposed to be entered as a total, rather than the individual amounts from each country.

I'm retired, and don't have a complicated return. I can do my own returns with or without any tax software, but TT has always saved me the time it would take me to research annual changes in the tax codes, and provides any forms I need. I've been using it for years, and have never had any problems with it. The time I save is well worth the price.
What's great about it: Saves time, Simple instructions, keeps prior years records,

Improved and easy

My return gets more complicated every year and TurboTax handles all the complex and new stuff that I just don't have time to figure out anymore. They have also made some improvements to things that didn't work exactly right like tax exempt interest handling. I also like the import function and the continuously expanded list of supported banks and brokerage firms.
What's great about it: Improvements like tax-exempt interest handling
What's not so great: Nothing to complain about this year

I've been using TuboTax and Quicken for many years and everything has always worked out well for me.
What's great about it: Easy to work with and to understand.
What's not so great: Can't think of any.

Simplifying a complicated task

My taxes are always a little more complicated than most due to working part-time as a hockey referee on top of my day job. Turbo-Tax Premier helps me easily file all my 1099-MISC and account for my hockey expanses
What's great about it: Simple
What's not so great: Allowed Deductins
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
