Worked out great

I have used Turbo Tax Deluxe in the past. However last year I found that Deluxe would not handle Stock Sales. I upgraded to Premier and am very satisfied with the results. I really like the fact that Turbo calls up the previous year and imports the data.
What's great about it: The interview process was easy and handled Div and Int
What's not so great: Rather difficult to find and correct some of the errors that were detected.

Almost Totally Complete

Could not find a way in TurboTax Premier to indicate pass thru widely-held mortgage trust (WHMT).proceeds (return of principal). Eventually sent copies of my Vanguard Information with the data indicated.
What's great about it: Very easy to use, whether you go by easy-step or enter data yourself.
What's not so great: Only had one problem with WHMTs.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Penny-wise Pound foolish

I have used TurboTax for a number of years (since before 2009). Usually I have been very happy with it. However, this year I was disappointed. First the IRA contributions calculator suggest my wife (with less than $1000 in income) could contribute over $2600 to her IRA. That is not correct!
Second, the state file asked several questions that should have been gleaned from the federal return. In addition, these questions provided little guidance on how to find the correct information.
Finally, there was an additional fee to file the state form electronically. This came to light only after beginning the state e-file process. Very disappointing!!
The competitors are getting much better and tend to be less expensive than TurboTax. Will probably switch next year.

Very good overall, except for trying to pay by credit card.
What's great about it: Quite straightforward - easy to follow
What's not so great: Trying to pay State tax by credit card was a nightmare

I understand the appeal to all levels but there should be a button for those who are familiar with tax return preparation.
Also, should be able to save file with a chosen file name.
What's great about it: the input and calculations, also most questions
What's not so great: too wordy, too much to read

Another good experience

This is the 5th or 6th year I have used Turbo Tax Premier. I find it very easy to follow. I can easily and quickly import all of the information from my investment firms. Everything gets sorted into the correct spots. After the 1st year, I can see what I entered each step of the way the previous year. Gives me good idea about finances. I have always used Premier version, not knowing that in some previous years it was possible to do investments in the cheaper version. Therefore, I did run into problems when the change was made last year.
What's great about it: Easy to follow directions

EACH YEAR THE PROCESS SEEMS TO GET EASIER AND FASTER. HAVING LASTYEARS INFO SIDE BY SIDE IS GREAT.
What's great about it: EASY TO UNDERSTAND
What's not so great: SOME ITEMS SEEM TO SELF POPULATE

Time & Stress Saver

My dread for doing taxes used to be 200 on a 100 point scale. With Turbo Tax it is more like 97 on a 100 pt. scale.
What's great about it: Takes a lot less time to do my taxes than it used to.
What's not so great: Still a few of the non-standard things that lack sufficient explanation.
