So easy!

Federal taxes are a breeze. If you can answer simple questions, you can file your own taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to follow - just answer the questions.
What's not so great: State taxes occassionally have issues.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Very Very easy to use, the walk through section for Income / Expense is so easy, informative and great. Made it so easy. Check out tips / help for each section, very informative
What's great about it: Very friendly and walk through Income / Expenses makes me feel like a Pro

Usage

Help leaves something to be desired on state excise on car purchase but eventually in time was able to resolved via consulting with CPA using misc other deductions. Placed wrong state on quarterly tax payments that was detected through manual review. Property rental fee on misc 1099 kept reporting to form C - wording was obvious choice problem detected on manual review. Had to delete Form C and rewrite 1099 entry. Aside from my time delays errors program worked well.
What's great about it: I like the status of income tax owed at top of screen to help understand problems exist
What's not so great: I made minor errors that were hard to find and time consuming.

Quarterly payment adjustments

Knew next year income would be different, and wanted to adjust my projected quarterly payments. Was difficult to find place to do that.

Worked well except for the MAC CD

Once up and running, the software performed well and consistently as every year. This year, I used a CD to install the software on my MAC which was a disaster.
I spent close to three hours talking to your staff to help me out. The willingness to give me a free download immediately was surprising. After the third agent walked me through eliminating all my previous TurboTax files, listings etc. on my MAC, was I able to download a new version. It appears that you had a ton of problems with your MAC software and should have informed the users accordingly with special agents addressing the problems. This was a very bad experience!

Have used Turbo for 15+ years and it has improved each year. Plan to use again next year
What's not so great: Dont like the price increases for State e-file. Think you are goughing us a litte on this!

Great program

I have used Turbo Tax forever and it only gets better. Even with rental property and investments and what is considered to be a "complicated" tax situation, I can do it myself with confidence. After all, most "tax professionals" are either using Turbo Tax, or some similar program and I have to provide them the information. The forms and instructions have gotten easier each year.
What's great about it: I can do my own taxes that are complicated!
What's not so great: None I can find this year
