With TurboTax's help, I didn't owe nearly as much as I did at first. It helped me get all the credits I could!

A bit clunky at times

We love this program and use it every year. If we could've worked out the CA kink, it would've been even better.
What's great about it: Easy to use for the direct questions, simple and convenient.
What's not so great: Program automatically added CA to my daughter's return, even though she did need to.

My only problem was at end trying to pay for the Audit protection. Got all tangled up with ID & PW to use credit card. Took me an hour to get it done.

Really appreciated the ease of finding how to enter corrected cost basis for ESPP according to the new reporting rules brokers are using.

No Mailing Instructions

Everything went pretty smoothly but at the end of the day, there is no mailing instructions for the Federal only the State. Very upsetting.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: No where to send Return!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Cannot E-file return for my deceased father

Overall I was pleased with TurboTax Premier however my time was wasted and I was stressed when the Federal e-file I submitted for my deceased father was rejected. I went back into the return to "correct the pin error" and resubmitted it only to have it rejected again. After the second rejection I submitted a question regarding this and found that federal returns for deceased individuals cannot be e-filed and must be submitted by mail which is what I surmised after I was notified of the second rejection of my e-file. Had this been noted in the notes during the actual process of preparing the return I would have saved time and stress and could have mailed the return on the day it was completed.
