TURBO TAX WANTED TO GET IN TO PROTECTED INFO TO DOWN LOAD LAST YEARS BASIC INFO.
IT WAS TAKING FOREVER AND I FINALLY GAVE UP ON IT AND WENT THRU THE PROCESS OF INPUTTING THE INFO MYSELF. PREVIOUS YEARS WERE NEVER AN ISSUE.

What's great about it: BASICALLY A GOOD PROGRAM USED PREVIOUSLY

Beats any tax consulting service

Turbotax overrides professional accounting language asking questions that are easily understood by anyone. It provides sources of help and precise explanations for the information needed. If you need further explanation it brings up the pertinent information from the government tax manuals. If you are having problems beyond these measures, which is rare, very professional help is also available from Turbotax by phone or chat. When you are finished you feel you have got it all correct and just as well done, if not better, than having a tax service, bank or accountant do it. . The only shortcoming is that Turbotax does not automatically save entries as they are made. If your computer shuts down unexpectedly for any reason, all entries made sine user has manually saved is lost. Very discouraging when it happens. Fix that and it is a great program.
What's great about it: Very precise questions easy to undertand.
What's not so great: Does not prove automatic saving of entries.

What's great about it: Easy to use with step by step guidance and lots of helpful information.
What's not so great: The corrections to be made after a review were not clearly stated as to what needed to be done.

HOPE A FLAT TAX IS IN THE FUTURE
What's great about it: GOOD SYSTEM
What's not so great: TOOK A LONG TIME
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Paid for more than I needed...

What's great about it: I have been using TurboTax for many years and I am very satisfied with the ease-of-use of the software.
What's not so great: Had to download and pay for 3 state tax returns to find out that I did not meet the filing requirements. Wasted money!

I would like to see a search for form 1099 so if I receive that form later than my other forms I can go directly to where the information on particular form needs to be entered.
I would prefer to pay one price to include free fed and free state efile.
