The auto correction flow takes you to modify some things directly in the forms, without any explanation, directions, or options. For a non-tax person that is frightening, and exactly what we are trying to avoid by buying this software.
What's great about it: menues are mostly intuitive

turbo tax problems

I printed my taxes after sending them and found a form 4562 that i have no idea how i got it I will probably get called in because of it. cannot figure how to delete this cannot seem to correct it in forms It has been pretty frustrating now that I filled with this form that should not be there.
What's great about it: easy to load and get started takes you through all the steps
What's not so great: got lost in this years turbo tax at the end

I'd recommend using the turbo tax software for anyone looking to file taxes without waiting for tax services

Interview process could be improved

In general I like the product, but some sections are confusing and the interview leaves you hanging. Information provided in the help screens is not well written or directs you to the IRS publications. Carryover questions should have been pre-populated by TurboTax since I have used it for the past 5 years. It still seems like I am continuously reaching for the prior return when TT should have the information and make this easier.
What's great about it: Importing information from previous year
What's not so great: Still need to be a tax accountant in some sections
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Biggest Refund Ever!

Been using Turbo Tax for all family members since 2007. Never had a problem with filing, refunds....anything! It's a comprehensive program that has covered all of my filing needs as a homeowner with additional rental properties. Will continue to use for the foreseeable future.
What's great about it: Easy to use; secure; easy to go back and edit details before filing.
What's not so great: Really can't think of any cons for this program.

Breeze to use

I used to use TaxAct for my taxes for the last 7 years. This year, with a more complex situation, got bogged down with Tax Act, where having to wait for email support for 2 days and getting muddled answer was not helpful. Decided to give TurboTax a chance, and so glad that I did. It took less then 2 hours to prepare the return despite having lot's of complicating events. Will stick to TurboTax from now on.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Higher price
