Detailed and Complete

Extremely thorough and written in lay terms. I will definitely use this again in coming years. In the review section, definitions were often cryptic and not easy to understand. The errors found were often data that had been previously input and should have automatically populated. I was not happy that the extra charge for efile was not clearly represented on the original software packaging. But of course, the cost to print out a paper copy and mail it offsets the additional cost, besides the convenience and security of the efiling. Still...
What's great about it: Easy question and answer; import records from banks, employers and brokerages; thorough examination of all aspects
What's not so great: Multiple inputs of the same data. ex: other income did not populate the form with source, recipient, or address.

Effective but less user friendly than in the past

It was a lot harder to fill in the return this year and that was largely due to the "con" I listed above. While it is great to have investments downloaded directly into the return it is really difficult to figure out where data went so if, as in our case, an omission was noted in the review step, it is very hard to figure out exactly where to find the problem. That's something you should fix asap. It shouldn't be hard for the error message to direct you to the form and line where the problem rests.
What's great about it: Ability to download investment summary forms into the return.
What's not so great: Invisibility of missing items and difficulty of finding your way back when there is a correction or missing data

Excellent way to file return. Easy to use.

Turbo Tax does an excellent job at preparing your Tax forms. It even continually backs them up in the event your computer crashes or freezes up. It takes you step by step with easy to understand directions and information.
What's great about it: Easy to understand and logical.
What's not so great: A demo at the beginning of what is going to happen would be nice.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

this year was complicated

I had a hard time this year because my computer died and I had all the hard discs from years past except 2014. This meant I had to type in every thingt and look up many things, no autofil. Plus we moved and rented out one home. Many changes in our lives all for the better except the computer crisis. Thanks for all the help. I have used turbo tax for many years and have always found it easy to use. Next year will be easy again.

Turbo Tax premier

This is probably my last year of using Turbo Tax. I am very disappointed with the product now. It is not as user-friendly as it used to be. I still have not submitted my state return because I can't get into the return to edit it. Iwould appreciate an answer from you in a timely fashion so that I can find closure. Thank you.
What's not so great: can't edit my iowa state tax return. Turbo Tax does not insert my fed.refund received in 2015

Once installed, so easy to use!

Once the program was downloaded, the actual completion of my taxes was very easy; however, trying to download the program to a Mac was very difficult. Many of the tech support staff had no idea how to solve the problem. Finally, one suggested a work around that was successful. Of the many people that I worked with, only one was rather unpleasant and impatient.
What's great about it: So easy to use and complete
What's not so great: Many problems trying to download the program on a Mac.
