Overall, excellent. Some items from last year's tax return could have been filled in by the Turbo Tax software, I had to go back to last year's return.

Easy e-Filing for quick refund

While filing two different State taxes (NY and NJ) , there were some confusion on double taxation, until I edited the proper amounts (non-resident vs. resident) in the State tax forms.
What's great about it: Easy importing data, accurate and quick e-filing in Turbo tax

Going through the income sections on my own, as opposed to being guided, I found TurboTax created or had duplicate entries after entering values from some schedules. This required me to look through using the edit button for one of them to make sure which one was the way it should be and delete the other.
The software was confusing when it came to import versus manual entry of W-2 data. I don't think the software ever prompted me or asked whether I wanted to attempt import or enter the W-2 data manually. The prompting for the import from a financial institution was more straightforward.

Better Every Year!!!

Been using TurboTax for well over 10 years. Every year, it gets more straightforward to use, seamlessly taking you through all required areas, depending on your circumstances and tax records.
If you have your tax information, w-2's, financial statements, etc (most can be imported!) you can't miss using this product. If you have not kept accurate records there is nothing than can help. TurboTax is not magic; you have to enter the correct information.

What's great about it: Does a great job on Capital Gains and financial sales
What's not so great: Can't think of any!!!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Not quite as clear and 2014

The Capital gains/Losses section is confusing, especially when dealing with carry-over. Health insurance section doesn't make sense to me but I think that is the law itself rather than TT fault. Also had some difficulty with inheritance vs. trust payout sections but that is a one time thing for me.
What's great about it: Much less expensive than a CPA and relatively easy to work with
What's not so great: Had more difficulty with a couple of sections this year than in the past
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Unbelievably Easy!

I have been using Turbo Tax since it first came out many, many years ago. It has gotten better. There were some years where I felt I was their beta test, but the support group got me through it.
I do taxes for my friends so it gets easier and easier as I go through each tax situation. Great product.

Good but could be better

The download from brokerage now gets a little confusing and hard to track. Hard to backtrack depreciation data. I suggest the ability to compare multiple year returns.
I would hope that it compares forms to previous filing to see if I missed something. Some IRA forms seem to disappear.
What's great about it: fast, quick, takes last years data, downloads data
What's not so great: formats change every year
