What's great about it: easy to use, sucks in previous data & info

2015 Turbo Tax experience

I have been using TurboTax for many years and it continues to be an exceptional product! Two complaints this year: We need a routine way to list other State and Local Taxes such as the Art Tax in Portland, Oregon. Also it is not obvious how i burn a copy to a CD from within the application.
What's great about it: Efficient and effective
What's not so great: Not easy to post the Portland, Oregon Art Tax to the return!

If you can't file your own taxes with this program you shouldn't own a computer.

great job again , long time user

The handling of my 401k roll over was very confusing. it kept showing up as Income even thought the 1099 form showed it as un-taxable, there was no special topic on this.
When it was finally backed out I had to LOOK for it.
This could have used a Special flag or something that would have told me it was NOT INCOME
I had to go back and forth checking my inputs

Works well for the average filer

Software is thorough and detailed for the average user download of some documents is quirky. First registration page is annoying and does not allow one to move forward without dismissing every single time. More info on K-1s would be useful for the advanced user. I feel repeat users should be allowed to upgrade as opposed to purchasing at full price every year same as Quicken though. Software is not as intuitive as I had hoped especially in the IRA contribution incentive tab. Been using for 15 years and it does the job.
What's great about it: very detailed easy step by step process, import of past taxes is a big help
What's not so great: first registration page should allow you to dismiss once and be done forever
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

long-time user of the program. There is some repetitive steps, but understand why. Have also used your audit service and found it to be very good. The redo or split out of the product last year was ok, but kind of forces customers to buy the upgraded product. Think it may have cost you some customers. May look at competitive products in future.
