User Friendly

It is helpful to be able to transfer investment info. We like the questions taking us through the process. Life would be easier if there was automatic alphabetizing of charitable deductions.
What's great about it: being able to transfer investment info.; questions to work you through the process
What's not so great: need to provide automatic alphabetizing of charitable deductions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Thank you TurboTax

Since I retired from medical practice (2008) I've used TurboTax. I keep coming back - that must mean you're doing something right. I suggested a few years ago, that you have some means for users to provide feedback on every screen/page, since asking for feedback only at the end was too late for users to remember individual issues worthy of comment. I was thrilled to see the feedback option on every page, BUT the boiler-plate email response was a big waste of time.
It would be nice if you had some way to give the user some reasonable estimate of what percentage of completion has been accomplished. . . as one plows through the process of completing what seems, at times, like end-less forms and questions.
Finally, since I suspect most, if not all, users take multiple days to complete this whole process, it would be nice if there was a way to go back directly to where one left off, without having to scroll through all the preliminary questions that often precede many sections.

What's great about it: -excellent format
What's not so great: poor explanations for how to deal with depreciations on rental property.

Good Guidance

I sold some stocks last year and I was worried on how I was going to
handle that. I just imported everything from my Broker and Turbo-
Tax took care of it. Thank You for that.
I still find some questions confusing, ex. where and when to take a deduction for job related expenses, Alternative Minimum Tax,
Foreign tax on stocks outside the country etc. All in all it did guide me through everything fine.
What's great about it: Import feature for Stocks worked flawlessly
What's not so great: Some questions were still confusing
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Could be a little easier still

Pros:
Each year is a little easier seems like. The interface is similar to the previous year which makes getting through the screens quicker and easier.
Importing from It's Deductible is getting easier, as well as that app's interface getting easier to manage.
Can you do something about the government taking more of my money every year and me getting less back? I'm not making more.
Cons:
If I opt to import last year's return, why am I asked to enter information from several lines on last year's federal return? Doesn't make sense.
Deducting Union Dues, Foreign Tax and IRA Contributions... I don't qualify to deduct any of them, yet I am still asked. So I put the amounts in, like a doe-doe-bird. If the qualification for these deductions is based on income (I've already entered my income,) why am I even asked? It should not allow me to enter things I'm not qualified to deduct if it's based on income. (enhancement for next year's app?)
Thanks for a nice app. I still dread doing taxes, but not nearly as much as in years past when it would take hours and hours!
What's great about it: Importing
What's not so great: Must enter information from last year's return; Asked to Enter Unqualified Deducitions

Not military family friendly
on March 12, 2016

If there is a military family and both spouses work, then it is difficult to file with Turbo tax. Their customer support is great, but it adds an extra few hours to use the back doors they have me use.
I will give turbo tax one more year to improve the program, but if it is not fixed next year, I am trying something else.
What's great about it: good customer service
What's not so great: program does not work well for Military families
